On the Path of Vengeance - By Princess Alexandria

Day 11  – Friday – July 25th

They worked on finalizing the plans for a few hours, and were dividing up the targets when Trini managed to shove her foot in her mouth.  “I think Fox should take Steve.”  She had seen the young man, and he was no fighter.  When Fox’s head snapped up so that the redhead could glare at her she added, “You’re not immortal.  I don’t want you getting killed.”  Trini noticed that Demona had gone very quiet and was watching her and Fox.

“I’ve been in…”  Fox’s voice was rising, and Trini watched Fox force herself to calm down a little, but her anger was very clear. “I’ve been in battles, and done these sorts of operations.  Don’t try to use that argument with me again… I know what I’m doing, and you’re not even partially trained yet.”

“Well, it’s not like these assholes can kill me.”  Trini hissed back.  “God dammit… I am not…”  Trini didn’t even finish that.

Demona spoke quietly, “You won’t have to bury her now… not yet.”  Trini took a shuddering breath, and looked down at the table.  Demona had read her perfectly.  Fox’s body lost its tension as she sat further back in her chair and stared at Demona, clearly shocked at that comment.  “Fox is right, you aren’t trained enough to take the others.  Kidnapping them is much harder than killing them.  Steve is yours.”  Trini just nodded, both of her lovers thought she couldn’t do it, and they would know.

Trini went to get them all something to drink, and she could hear Fox start to talk as soon as she left the room.  “Why’d you say something like that?!”

Domi’s voice sounded weary, “She’s immortal Fox… She will probably stop aging at some point, and she will watch the people she cares about die.  That’s what immortals do… watch death.  She’s starting to realize that.”

Trini moved faster to get away from that conversation.  She had no idea how she could survive seeing all of these people she’d come to care for die.  She had no idea how Demona had been able to deal with losing two clans full of gargoyles she cared for.  Suddenly a human lifespan seemed so small.  Trini sighed as she poured the juice.  She hadn’t even really started her journey as an immortal, and already it was weighing on her.  She forced these depressing thoughts away and took the glasses back to the office.

Trini was going home with Fox tonight.  They all had agreed on a trial basis schedule for Trini.  This was much more awkward than the deal Fox, Trini, and David had going on, because living together had made it far easier to share Fox.  Trini would spend three nights a week with Demona, the gargoyle had understood that Fox saw the time that Domi and Trini worked together as making up for the inequity as well as the fact that the clan would be eating into some of Fox’s time.  Special plans and such would be arranged as they came up.  To start with Trini would stay with Domi on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, but this schedule wouldn’t go into effect until Mark and his goons were taken care of.  For now they needed to play everything by ear.

“I’ll see you tomorrow at work.”  Trini moved closer to Demona, while studying the gargoyles lips.  She whispered her request, “Kiss me.”  She could see some of the tension leave the gargoyle as those beautiful blue lips curved up in a slight smile.  The kiss started out as a gentle peck, but Trini wrapped her arms around Demona’s neck and held her still for a more passionate kiss.  Trini had to be careful to not kiss too hard, or Demona’s fangs might do some damage to one of them.  She could feel some of the gargoyle’s reluctance melt away as Trini gently nibbled on Demona’s lower lip and then moved closer to kiss her again, while Trini also played with the gargoyle’s hair.  Soon Demona’s arms were wrapped around Trini tightly, and Trini could feel Demona trying to get as much physical contact as possible.

Demona moaned as she pulled away.  “Oh, Trini”  Both of their eyes were glowing brightly.  “You need to go now, or I won’t be able to let you go.”  Demona said breathlessly while caressing Trini’s hair.

Trini’s reply was just as breathless.  “For someone who says she doesn't kiss… you are amazing at it.”  Trini gave Demona a small smile.  “I love you.”

Trini turned to open the front door and join Fox in the car.  “Didn’t you have a bag?”  Demona asked, causing Trini to turn back to her.

“I… sort of live here now.”  Trini said hesitantly, hoping she didn’t misread anything.  “I was leaving that stuff here.”

Trini watched as Demona’s eyes warmed and the gargoyle smiled, “You do live here… you aren’t just visiting.  I didn’t realize…”  The smile grew, “I’ll clear out some drawers and some space in the closet.”

Trini relaxed, she was worried for a moment that Demona would feel like it was too soon or something.  She grabbed the front door and opened it.  She’d made Fox wait too long already.  “Thank you.  I don’t really have a lot of stuff, so I don’t need much space.”

“No, then what you need is more stuff.”  Demona raised an eyebrow at Trini and grinned.  Trini rolled her eyes at the gargoyle and smirked as she shut the door.

Fox and Trini had driven a few miles without anything being said.  Trini turned and just stared at Fox, as if trying to read her mind as the redhead drove.  “I didn’t have sex with her.”  Trini said quietly.  Fox turned to look at her, clearly surprised at that.  “It’s just too soon… she and I… have some baggage to get over.”  That was a nice way to say that rape was still hanging over the new couple like a dark cloud.  Trini was sure that was why Demona didn’t want to have sex with her while Demona was in her human form, and the excuse for the gargoyle form… was probably related in some way as well.

“Oh…”  It sounded like Fox was at a loss for words, but Trini could see some of the tension leaving Fox’s shoulders as Fox continued to focus on the road.  They sat in awkward silence for a while.  “I’m sure the two of you will be able to get past this.”  Trini sighed.  She knew that her and Demona would be able to, but that sort of thing took time.

It must have been ten minutes of silence before there was any more conversation in the car.  “I think we’ll need to pretend you have two jobs.  We can make up a place for your day job relatively easy, and then a night job.”  Fox shook her head, “This… is going to be a mess.  I wish the clan wasn’t involved.”

“Yeah… there’s already enough lies floating around.”  Trini sighed.  That reminded Trini of Elisa and the conversation she'd had with the detective about some of the lies they were all keeping from the clan.  “Elisa agreed with my plan to disappear when it became time for mating.”

“She came by last night… and she looked pissed.”  Fox glanced at Trini, “She dragged Goliath off to yell at him.  You told her he tried to hit you?  I didn’t know about that or I would have yelled at him myself!”

Trini grimaced, “Well, I hadn’t planned on making an issue of it… but it just sort of came up during my lunch with Elisa.”  She spoke more quietly, “I didn’t want to make her… she looked so upset.”

“Of course,” Fox snapped, “Her overgrown boyfriend tried to hit you.  She still loves you.”  Trini turned to stare out the window.  She knew it was true.  Elisa did still love her.  That got them more silence.

Fox parked the car in the underground garage at almost four in the morning, so it was still dark.  “Show time.”  Fox muttered quietly for some reason before they got out of the car.  Trini glanced around the garage and realized what Fox meant.  She could see some glowing white eyes in the shadows.  She sighed as she got out of the car.  Her and Fox started to walk towards the elevator and were almost there before Brooklyn stepped out into the light.  Trini was a little relieved; she’d been worried that it was Goliath.

“Trini?”  Brooklyn said somewhat tentatively as his eyes stopped glowing, “Where have you been?!”

Trini gritted her teeth and managed to not snap at the red male.  It was none of his business!  Fox answered calmly for her, “She was visiting a friend.”  Fox then pressed the button for the elevator, and Trini could see how edgy this male was making Fox.

“Oh.”  Trini could tell he had heard she had a lover by the tension in his voice.  “She lives in New York?”

The elevator door opened and Fox walked in and held the button so it wouldn’t close before Trini got in.  Trini got in before she answered, “Yes.”  The doors shut, leaving Trini staring at the doors.  “I don’t know what I have to do to get rid of him.”

Fox sounded tired, "Maybe he'll finally give it up, now that he knows you already have someone."

They both got into the apartment and started to prepare for bed quietly.  Trini was going to need to wake up and go to work.  When Trini crawled into bed and Fox moved to hold her, she felt a lot better.  Fox hadn’t shown any real affection since she came over to Domi’s.  Trini snuggled up to Fox and made a content little sigh.  “I love you.”  She whispered as she laid her head down on Fox’s shoulder.

Trini had found it easy to fall asleep after having been awake since nine am.  The familiar nightmare was starting, but it stopped suddenly, with all the characters disappearing, leaving Trini alone in the barn.  She spun around with wide frightened eyes watching the walls start to shake, she could hear the wood cracking as the roof was pulled off and disappeared from sight, showing the clear blue sky.  After that all four walls just folded down to the ground inexplicably.  Her dream never did this… Trini got into a battle stance, because she was unsure of what was happening.

“Trinity child.”  Three voices called to her from behind her, so Trini spun around quickly.  Three women, identical in every way except for their hair color, stood in a meadow.  Trini looked down to find no evidence of that barn; she was in the meadow now too.

Trini stepped closer to those three women while studying them.  They all wore identical outfits, which appeared to be white dresses with a blue coat attached along the collar.  One had black hair, as dark as Trini’s, another had pure white hair, and the last was strawberry-blonde, all styled in the same way, with a part in the middle, with their hair hanging all the way down to the middle of their backs and their obviously Fey ears sticking out.  Their ears were about the size of Trini’s.  “Who are you?”  Trini asked while watching the three carefully.  There was something very unnatural about the way they moved and talked as if they were one person.  As soon as Trini thought that the three started to relax, and began to seem more normal.

The blonde moved to sit on a stump, while smiling at Trini.  She seemed very friendly.  “I’m Phoebe.”  Just one voice told her.  Trini gave her a small smile.

The white haired one nodded at her from the place she was standing, “I am Luna.”  Trini just nodded back.  Luna seemed pretty distant.

The one with black hair walked up to Trini, who had stopped a distance from the three, unsure of the threat.  There was always a threat in her dreams lately.  “I’m Selene.”  The black haired one said while seeming to study Trini carefully, with a small fond smile on her lips and gentleness in her eyes.  It was a little disarming how intensely Selene was watching her.  Trini watched as Selene’s eyes hardened, and she took a step back frightened.  “I am so sorry that you went through this.  I… was unable to interfere.”

Trini didn’t respond, she just looked between the three, “Are you the Weird Sisters?”  These three had tried to contact her when her and Domi were trapped in that train.  All three nodded yes, and it was unnerving how they sometimes moved at exactly the same time.  “I mean you really are… you aren’t a dream.”

Trini almost stumbled back when Selene reached out and took her hand.  “No, child… we are really here in your dream.”  Selene smiled mischievously, “It’s a fey thing… to appear in dreams.  It takes less energy than going in person.  We couldn’t get away from Avalon.”

Trini carefully pulled her hand out of Selene’s, afraid to anger the Fey… but not comfortable with the familiarity with which Selene touched her.  She wished that Fox’s mom were here, she at least knew that Fey wanted to help her stay at home.  Luna spoke suddenly, “You belong out in the mortal world.  We understand that as well Trinity child.  We shall not be forcing you to come to us.”  Trini stared over Selene’s shoulder at Luna.  These three were reading her mind!  Luna gave Trini a mysterious smile, “We are in your mind child.  Reading it from here is a small task.”

“Stop it Luna, you’re going to upset her.” Phoebe said firmly.  Phoebe them stood up and moved up to Trini, “You’ll get used to this after a while.  I suppose these dream visits are a little intimidating at first.”  Phoebe smiled and held out a hand to shake.  Trini slowly reached out and shook her hand.

“Why are you here?”  Trini’s eyes traveled back to Selene, she seemed to be in charge, and the black haired woman’s gaze had relaxed into a more normal one.  Trini no longer felt like she was being sized up.

“Queen Titania is currently trying to convince Lord Oberon that you belong in New York with her daughter.”  Selene sighed, “Luna is unsure whether that will work.  It is possible that he may decide to try and take you both, believing that your potential as bonded Fey cannot be realized surrounded by humans in a human city.  When our bond was discovered…”  Selene motioned to her sisters as she spoke, “he took over our training himself.  This was a very long time ago, but we are concerned.  Puck’s tutoring will not be enough, he knows nothing of how these bonds work.”  It was easy to hear that Selene thought very little of Puck.

Phoebe put her hand on Selene’s shoulder and then smiled at Trini, “What Selene is trying to say is that we think you might need a little tutoring from us before Oberon comes to visit you.”

“The first thing you need to learn is how to open that box you now have.” Luna spoke as she moved closer to the others.

“I’m not so sure that I…”  Trini didn’t want to offend these women, but Demona said that they couldn’t be trusted.

“That gargoyle doesn’t think anyone can be trusted.”  Selene’s voice was a little harsh.

“Well, she seems to be trusting our Trinity, doesn’t she?”  Phoebe spoke gently to her sister.  Trini didn’t like the fact that these three seemed to know so much about what was going on in Trini’s life.

“I think I can take care of this.”  Luna said softly as she stepped closer to Trini.  “To open the box, you just need to say your full name.”  Trini looked down to find that box in her hands.  She looked up at Luna, unsure if she should really do this.  Luna smiled, “We made the box so that it wouldn’t be too difficult for an untrained Fey to open.”  Trini’s eyes widened.  These three made the box that her grandmother left for her?

Trini flinched a little when Selene put her hand on Trini’s shoulder.  She looked into the black haired woman’s gray eyes.  Selene had gray eyes… like Trini’s.  Oh God…  Trini looked down at the box, and then back up at the black haired Weird Sister that didn’t look any older than her, but she knew was at least as old as Demona.  She spoke the name, “Trinity Marie Stephens… Weird?”  Selene nodded and smiled.

Trini looked down to see the box’s lid rising on it’s own.  Sitting on a bed of black velvet were two identical rings.  These rings looked like three rings merged together, one of silver, one of gold, and one of some sort of black material.  It was as if these rings were modeled after the sisters themselves.

“Wear them both on your fingers.”  Selene indicated on her own hand that these were to go on the ring fingers.  “There will come a time when you will know what to do with the extra one, but for now… keep them both.  These will help to protect you.”  Trini set the box down on a stump that suddenly appeared and removed the two rings to do what Selene said.  After the rings were on her fingers she looked up into Selene’s face.  “I do love you child.  You do have family.”  She could see some tears in the dark sister’s eyes before Selene turned away and her two sisters took each of her hands.  “You will see us again.”

Trini swayed as she woke up standing.  She quickly looked down to find those two rings on her hands, and the opened box in front of her.  She was in someone else’s room.  She slowly turned around to find Owen and Fox staring at her.  Trini was suddenly aware that her pajamas only came to just below her underwear.  Fox wasn’t covered any better in that teddy.  “I… I…”  Trini reached down to pick up the opened box and turned back.  “She decided it wasn’t a good idea to wait.”  She said quietly, wanting nothing more than to go back to her room and get dressed.  She could see that she’d woken Owen up… this was probably his living room.  She knew he lived here too, but she’d never known where his rooms were.

“Trini?”  Fox stepped up to her, “I couldn’t wake you.  I had to just follow you, I couldn’t even get close enough to stop you… you used that force field again.”

Owen put his glasses on, “What I am interested in knowing is who… She… is.”

Trini sighed, she could feel the blush on her face.  She would have been better off wearing pajama bottoms today.  “Fey can visit dreams?”  She looked at Owen and he nodded that it was true.  Good… then it was real.  She turned to look at Fox, they’d said Queen Titania.  Fox’s mom was a queen.  “Your mom is trying to talk Lord Oberon into letting me stay but they weren’t sure it would work.  They said I should wear these rings at all times.  I don’t know what they do.”  She held out her hands to show Fox the rings.  Fox stepped closer and took both hands into her own.

Fox looked at the rings, and Trini could see that Owen was looking at them as well.  “Who are they?”  Fox said quietly.

Trini sighed, wondering if the Weird Sisters had a bad reputation with other people.  How was Demona going to take the fact that she was related to them?  “The Weird Sisters.”  She could see Owen stiffen up.  “Selene is my grandmother.”

“What?”  Fox stared at Trini with her mouth open just a little.  Trini could see she’d surprised both of them with that one.

“I didn’t think those sisters spent any time apart.  Apparently I was wrong.” Owen still seemed a little amazed, which was a new expression for Trini to see on him.

Owen followed them back to the apartment, because Trini was tired of being so exposed, and didn’t like that Fox was practically naked in front of him.  Owen didn’t seem to really notice, but still.  Fox and Trini slipped into the bedroom so that Fox could grab a robe and Trini could put on some pajama bottoms.  “You know, Owen doesn’t really notice.”  Fox said as she sat down and watched Trini getting her pants on.  “He never does… we could be completely naked and it wouldn’t faze him.”

“Well, then… It bothers me.  I don’t care if I notice him staring at us or not.”  Trini took a deep breath and held out the robe to Fox.  Her lover sounded like she casually spent time next to naked around the blonde man and never thought anything of it.

Fox smiled at her and started to put the robe on.  “Okay… but just so you know, I think he’d stare at David before he stared at us.”  Trini’s eyebrows rose, “I’m just guessing…”  Fox smirked.

Trini came out of the bedroom with Fox to sit in the living room with Owen.  It was only six in the morning.  “What was this dream?  Give me details.”  Owen sat stiffly while still wearing his pajamas.  It looked a little silly.

Trini glanced at Fox for a moment and saw her lovers concern.  They never told Owen about Canada.  “I was in a building that was destroyed around me and they were in a meadow.”  Trini continued the story from there, ignoring how that dream had started from a regular nightmare.

Owen wasn’t too pleased that the Weird Sisters were planning to teach Trini something about magic, but Trini could tell he kept most of his concerns to himself because they were Trini’s relatives.  Trini finally had some relatives that seemed to accept her, but Owen and Fox weren’t very happy for her.  Once Owen finally couldn’t think of anything else to ask he left so that Trini and Fox could try and get some more sleep.

Trini arrived at her work ten minutes early.  She had lunch with Fox and David before coming, and it was obvious that David had all sorts of questions about Demona that he wasn’t asking.  Trini hid the box in her closet before leaving.  It was a nice box, but it was easily recognizable to the clan, who had stolen it’s counterfeit.  Erik was going to be disappointed when he opened it.

Lori greeted her when she got to work.  The secretary had managed to find some of the supplies, enough for Trini to start on her research.  Domi was in a meeting when she got there, so she just got to work.  After doing research for an hour, she decided that she was going to have to bring a radio in for her office, because the silence was irritating.  She left her door open as she worked, just so that it wasn’t completely quiet.  She could listen in on what Lori was doing, without the receptionist realizing it.  If she did nothing else for Domi, she was going to get her a receptionist that lasted and did good work.  She wasn’t above training someone to do that job, as long as they seemed to have potential.  She also wanted some clue as to why people always left that position.  What was Domi doing to her receptionists?

Trini’s eyes were getting a little tired of staring at her computer screen.  She glanced at the clock and decided she could take a break.  She stepped out into the reception area and noticed that Domi was still in a meeting.  She turned to Lori, “I’ll be right back.  I just need to get a snack.”

Trini was standing in front of the vending machine, trying to make her decision on a candy bar.  The cafeteria closed early on Fridays.  She grabbed one that she’d seen Domi eat before while she was at it.

When she hopped back into the elevator she wasn’t alone.  “Hi.”  The middle aged balding man smiled at her, “I don’t remember seeing you around.”

“I’m new.”  Trini decided to keep the employees guessing about her until she was ready to do those firings.  She’d glanced over the list of people she had to get rid off so that she’d recognize them if she ran into them.  That was how she recognized this man’s name when he introduced himself as Scott Fieldman.  He called in sick an unbelievable number of times in the past month and a half, and never had a good excuse.  He didn’t seem like the type to do that.  She might have to look into that once the employees realized she was Domi’s right hand person.

Five o’clock arrived quickly.  Trini was used to working full-time, so it seemed like she’d just gotten there and it was time to leave.  She stayed to see Domi.  Lori looked at her a little strangely when Trini made no move to leave yet.  “She doesn’t like people to stay after work.”

“She still in a meeting?”  Trini asked while glancing at the closed door.

“No, they left while you were out.”  Lori told her as she grabbed her purse and headed for the doors.

“See you Monday.”  Trini then moved to knock on Domi’s door, then slowly opened it.  Domi smiled up at her from her desk.  Trini pulled that candy bar out of her pocket.  “I was saving this for after your meeting, but I didn’t know it was over.”  She closed Domi’s office door and approached the desk.

“I tried to look in on you, but you were out.”  Domi took the candy bar and set in on her desk.

Trini sat down heavily in the chair opposite Domi.  She had to tell her.  “I… had a visit from my grandmother last night.”  Instantly Domi looked concerned.  “She visited me in my dreams to show me how to open that box we picked up in Oregon.”  Trini scooted closer to the desk and put her hands on the top of it close enough for Domi to see.  “It had these rings in it.  They don’t come off.  Apparently Oberon will be visiting me at some point and these are supposed to be some protection.”  She was still talking around the identity of her relatives.  She wished that she didn’t have to tell Domi, but she did.

“They won’t come off?!”  Domi reached out to verify it herself by trying to remove one of the rings.  It wasn’t that it was stuck… some sort of magic made it impossible to grab it.  “Did she tell you what it does?”  Domi moved to sit in the chair beside Trini so that the desk wasn’t between them.  “Or how to use it against Oberon?”

Trini took a deep breath and looked into Domi’s face, “No, none of them told me how to do that, but they plan to start magic lessons before I see him.”

“Them?”  Domi moved to sit back in her chair, and it made Trini feel like Domi was pushing her away.  Trini’s heart started to beat faster, she didn’t know what all the Weird Sisters did to make Domi hate them so much, and she didn’t want Domi to pull away from her because of who she was related to.

“I didn’t know.”  Trini whispered.  “I love you, please… I am not them.  Don’t hold this against me.”

Domi’s voice took on a cutting sarcastic edge, and her expression held none of the love that it had when Trini had come into her office.  “Let me guess… It’s one of the Weird Sisters.”  Domi tilted her head and studied Trini, “Selene.  I should have seen it.”

Trini took a deep breath, “Yes, it was Selene.”  When Domi stood up and moved to stare out the window, Trini got really scared.  Domi couldn’t even look at her.  Her voice sounded pathetic and sad to her own ears, “Can you still love me?  I don’t even know her… just like I don’t know my father.  Are you going to treat me like Eric did, when I have no control over this?”

Domi rested a hand on the window and stared out at the sunny day.  “Of course I still love you.”  Domi said, but she didn’t turn around, and she didn’t sound very convincing to Trini.  When Trini took a shuddering breath Domi turned and Trini could see her suddenly looking concerned, “Of course I love you.”  It sounded convincing this time, and Domi’s moving to hug Trini helped.  Domi sat back down in the chair she’d vacated.  “They have got to be among the most deceitful and manipulative Fey that exist.  I’m just worried…”  Domi’s voice trailed off for a moment, before her eyes stared at Trini, “Did they mention me at all?”

For a moment Trini wanted to lie.  “They were able to read my mind, and knew that you didn’t want me to trust them.  Selene said you don’t trust anyone… and Phoebe said you trust me.”  This comment caused Domi to stare at Trini’s hands, which were wringing each other nervously.  Trini stopped that once she saw it was being watched.  Being related to these Fey could ruin that trust, but if Trini wasn’t up front about it, she’d deserve the suspicion.

“You obviously decided to trust them… you’re wearing their jewelry.”  Domi said somewhat flatly.

Trini stared down at the rings.  “They told me about being related after that.  It was foolish, I know… they just all looked so concerned, like they really cared.”  Trini spoke more quietly, “She said that she loved me… that I had family.  I want to believe it.  They’re the only family I have… no one else wants me.”

Trini watched Domi’s hand take her own.  “Be careful.”  Domi spoke quietly.  “They tricked me into the immortality spell.  They tried to use MacBeth and I to take over Avalon, and then wiped our memories of it.  I found out about it from Angela.  She lived there at that time.”

Trini sighed, “Of course I’ll be careful.”  Her voice became more depressed.  Part of Trini wondered what could have kept Selene from saving her and Domi from the Quarrymen… or stopping her mother from having her wings removed… and where we these ever so powerful Fey when her mother hit her?  Titania had said they were powerful, she also said the type of bond Trini and Fox had was rare.  Maybe she inherited the tendency for that.

 Day 12   – Saturday – July 26th

Trini was beginning to feel like she'd been drafted into the armed services.  After she got home from work, and her discussion with Domi, Fox showed Trini her new uniform for the Saturday night mission.  That was what she was getting ready to take off now so she could have a shower.  She looked at herself in the mirror carefully first.  It was strange to see someone looking so dangerous in her mirror.  She was in her customary black, but it wasn't the same.  She had on boots that were not going to be kept after tonight, on the odd chance that she ended up leaving any footprints while picking her target up.  They were heavy and would do a lot of damage to anyone unfortunate enough to be kicked with them.  Her pants had several pockets for some of the things she'd need, like tranquilizer darts for the gun she'd just spent hours learning how to use, as well as spy goggles and a few other items.  Fox had given her a bullet-proof vest, but it wasn't as bulky as they looked on TV.  Bullets might not kill Trini, but being shot would leave her vulnerable.  Trini was relieved that Fox was planning on wearing one as well.  Over her vest she was wearing a black shirt with more pockets on the arms.  She had a ear-piece that was barely visible and would keep her in touch with her lovers while they did this.  She was also wearing her customary hat, with her hair pulled through the baseball cap.

Trini realized it wasn't the clothes making her look dangerous.  It was more professional looking, but she didn't look that different from when she used to go out on patrols.  It was her face.  She was prepared to go out and murder these men, and she could see that in her face.  There were no doubts, no regrets.  Her eyes stared back at a stranger who looked slightly paler, with cold eyes and almost no expression on her face.  Part of her thought she should feel something about doing this, some sort of doubt, but all she felt was justified.  She had the right to do this, after what these men had stolen from her and Demona.  Still... her target hadn't done those things.  Maybe that was part of her reason for not wanting to be the one to go after him.  It was much easier to feel like she was right when she was thinking about the other two, but this guy... she didn't know what all he was guilty of.  Now she saw the doubt in her reflection, and she didn't really want to have doubts about this.  He knew Domi's secret, was involved in the plan to kill her.  She couldn't afford to let him live, but... that was different from wanting him to die, or wanting him to suffer.  She'd never brought any of this up during her meetings with Demona and Fox, she'd been so caught up in everything else that it didn't occur to her.

The shower she took was far from relaxing as her doubts about what she was doing, as well as her ability to pull the kidnapping off plagued her.

She hid her clothes away for tomorrow and got dressed in something more innocent looking so that she could go see how Delilah was doing.  The clan had been awake for a few hours, it was almost one am now.  She couldn't exactly wear that outfit in front of the others.  David had seen her and Fox walking through the halls in these clothes, and Trini could tell he knew that something big was up.  They had managed to avoid everyone else on their trek after working out.

To David's credit he didn't ask at that moment what they were planning, but Trini felt pretty confident that Fox was now filling him in on the plan.  There was only so much you could hide from a mate, and Fox had found the limit.  A planned and perfectly executed murder was something you needed someone to be able to give you an alibi for.  Trini had agreed that David was the best choice for that, and in order for him to do that he needed to know what was going on.

The library had a few gargoyle's in it, and one of them was the one Trini was looking for.  Trini stood there in the doorway watching them for a moment.  Delilah was with Lex looking at something on the computer.  Trini didn't know if Delilah really was interested in computers or was just humoring the male.  Angela was reading a book on the couch while listening to the radio.  When Trini noticed none of the other gargoyles she was relieved.  The library door closed behind her as she made her way over to Delilah.

"Hey how are you doing?"  Trini asked as soon as Delilah noticed her walking up.  It felt good to see that Delilah was happy to see her now that the pheromones weren't an issue for the gargoyle.

"Fine, Lex is showing me how to set up an email account."  Delilah smiled.  Trini had no idea why her friend would need one, but she kept that to herself.  Delilah gave Trini a measuring look and lost her smile, "Something's wrong."

Trini felt her heart beat a little faster.  "Nothing big."  She managed to say as if it weren't.  She had planned to tell Delilah about her grandmother, that could be a good cover for what was really bothering her.  "My Fey relatives dropped by this morning."  Trini heard something and looked over to see that Angela had put her book down and was coming over to hear about that.  That female had been eavesdropping.

"So, who is it?  Anyone I've heard of?"  Lex stopped typing and turned to Trini.

"The Weird Sisters."  Trini was so busy watching Lex's amazed expression she didn't notice the others until afterwards.

"You're related to those harpies?!"  Goliath's deep voice startled Trini and the others.  Trini turned to see Goliath had just walked in with Elisa.  The human was looking a little puzzled, and Trini figured she wouldn't have been able to hear her from the doorway, even though Goliath could.

"Yes, I am related to the Weird Sisters.  Don't call them harpies!"  Trini snapped at him.  He was being insulting right off the bat.

Trini could see he was getting ready to respond when Elisa put her hand on his arm, "Goliath, just don't."  She said softly to him, but then turned to Trini, while walking closer, "How are you related to them?"

"Selene is my grandmother."  Trini could see shock on Elisa's face now.  Why was that always so amazing to everyone?  True they were all very strange, which might be where they got their name, but was it really so unbelievable for them to have children and grandchildren?

"Wow... she's the one in charge of vengeance."  Lex spoke in a quiet awed tone.  Trini turned to look at him.  She hadn't heard about this.  She could see he knew she wanted him to explain.  "Each of those three have something they specialize in, Selene has vengeance, Luna has fate, and Phoebe has compassion."  Lex glanced over at Goliath and Elisa for a moment, "I did a little research after I heard that Goliath and Elisa had met them."  When Trini turned to look at those two, she decided she didn't want to hear about that meeting.  It looked like the Weird Sisters managed to mess with their lives in some way as well.  Lex's voice took on a joking tone, but his body remained a bit tense, "That probably explains your temper when it comes to protecting Delilah."

Trini responded absently, "No one gets away with hurting the people I care about."  as she studied the rings on her hands.  Did all Feys have a specialization like that?  Did Fox and her have that?  She didn't notice the uncomfortable silence that followed her comment.

The hand on her shoulder shook her out of her thoughts, and she looked up to see everyone watching her.  "New rings?"  Angela asked quietly.  "They're pretty."  Angela took a hand to study the ring more closely, and Trini found herself very uncomfortable with that.

"They gave them to me.  Oberon might come to try and take me away soon."  Trini gently pulled her hand away from Angela, very conscious of all the eyes on them, "These are supposed to help protect me from him."

Elisa spoke a little loudly, "I thought your bond with Fox was going to protect you!"  Trini looked over at Elisa to see the detective coming up to her.

"Titania's trying, but they think it might just put Fox in danger too."  Trini could hear the tension in her voice as she told her ex-lover this, ignoring the audience, "I may have put her in danger, just because I exist."

Trini could hear Goliath muttering to Elisa, "What bond?"  but Elisa ignored him to pull Trini into a hug.

"Oh, honey... it'll work out.  With Titania and the Weird Sisters working on this, I can't see Oberon being able to take you away."  Trini hugged Elisa tightly.

Goliath's voice was tense, and Trini opened her eyes to see he didn't seem to like that Elisa was holding her.  "What is this bond?"  There was no compassion in his voice.  He was demanding answers!

The voice from the Library door answered for Trini, "It is none of your business Goliath."  Trini looked up to see Fox glaring at Goliath.  “This is a Fey matter.”  Elisa let go of Trini almost guiltily, and Trini turned her eyes to the detective’s.  Why was it a problem for Fox to see Elisa comforting Trini if it was fine for Goliath to see it?  Elisa’s expression was not giving any of her thoughts away.

Trini figured with Goliath back visiting hours were over.  “I’ll see you later.”  She said quietly to Delilah, who reached out and squeezed her hand in support before Trini started to walk towards her lover.  Fox was still glaring at Goliath, it wasn’t a comfortable place to be right now.  “Trini, maybe we could watch a movie tomorrow night?”  Delilah called out.

Trini reached Fox’s side and turned to look at her friend, “I have plans this weekend.  I’m sorry.  How about later in the week.”  Delilah seemed a little disappointed but she nodded.

“What kind of plans?”  Angela asked, and Trini managed to not make a face or cringe away from the question.

“David is taking us out to the country estate.”  Fox answered for Trini smoothly.  Trini didn’t even know they had another home.  Trini noticed Elisa’s eyes narrow in suspicion.  Great, she thinks I’m having wild orgies with Fox and David, Trini thought to herself.

Once they were in the apartment Trini spoke, “I didn’t know you had another home.”

“We do.”  Fox smiled softly.  “Are you sore from our workout?”  The sexy sway of Fox’s hips as she walked into the bedroom had Trini following with a small smile on her lips.  “We haven’t even tried out the hot tub… together.”

Forty minutes later Trini and Fox were engaged in some serious kissing while Fox straddle Trini in the hot tub.  Trini moaned as Fox moved her attention to Trini’s ear, nibbling it lightly.  Trini’s eyes were closed as she enjoyed the sharp bolts of arousal Fox’s attention was causing.  Trini started to caress Fox’s sex with her tail, since Fox was holding Trini’s arms down on the edge of the hot tub.  “Let’s take this inside.”  Fox whispered sexily into Trini’s ear.  Trini allowed Fox to lead her back into the bedroom.  Neither of them noticed the glowing red eyes staring at them from outside the sunroom window, before the female glided away.

Trini fell asleep with Fox in her arms.  The dream started out rather typically.  This time she was being forced to her knees in front of Mark, which is something she usually didn't dream about.  Suddenly a green glow enveloped him and he was tossed against the wall.  Trini spun around, still on her knees to see the Weird Sisters standing where Domi and the bed should be.  Selene was shaking with anger and started hitting all the men with her magic.  Phoebe was looking at her dark haired sister in concern, and it didn't seem to be fazing Luna at all.  Phoebe spoke gently to Trini, "Get up, you don't need to kneel before these men like this."

As Trini started to obey Selene hissed, "Those things were not men... they were monsters, and as such should be dealt with!"  Trini was beginning to see this split in power that Lex had mentioned.  Selene was glaring at the still bodies of the men that had attacked Trini, Phoebe was looking at Trini with concern, while Trini had no idea what was going on with Luna.  The white haired sister was just looking around the room, with no real expression on her face to give anything away.  Luna was a complete mystery, and that was irritating Trini.  She was a completely open book to these three when they visited her, and she didn't like that it was so one sided, especially with Luna.

Trini turned her attention to Selene and the bodies on the ground.  "Why couldn't you do that when I needed you to?"  She asked quietly.  She had to believe that her family would have at least tried to protect her if they could.

She watched as Selene seemed to deflate.  "We wanted to... but if you didn't ask for help, we weren't allowed to provide it."

Phoebe started to talk, "We approached you in the train and tried to get you to say it."

Luna added, "But your gargoyle decided to start protecting you from us at that moment."

Trini felt sick.  All of this could have been avoided, if only she'd asked for help.  Domi wouldn't have had to endure this rape and the shame and fear that were plaguing her.  The tape wouldn't be out there somewhere, waiting to shame her again.  She wouldn't have had to rape her friend.  To see that look of pain and betrayal on her face, it was that look that haunted Trini every night.  "Oh, Domi."  Trini stared at where to bed should be, with tears obscuring her vision.

Trini was startled when she was pulled into a hug.  She looked to see blond hair, "It wasn't your fault.  None of it was, it was these men.  You need to stop beating yourself up about this every night."

Trini suddenly found herself and the Weird Sisters transported to that meadow again.  Selene was in front of Trini now, looking a little apologetic.  "We don't have a lot of time each night that we can spend with you.  We need to start some magic training."  They spent the rest of their time teaching Trini how to sense magic without getting lost in it and how to recharge her own magic.  Trini realized now that her one bolt that she'd used in Oregon had used up much of her magic, but if she'd known how to recharge she might have been able to do another.

The sisters were getting ready to leave Trini's dream.  Luna spoke, "I rarely give advice... so listen carefully.  You need to trust your lovers to do what needs to be done, and complete your own tasks."  Trini nodded that she would remember that, but it made no sense to her.  Of course she trusted Fox and Demona.

Phoebe smiled at Trini, "Your choice of mates actually surprised us.  That doesn't happen often."

Selene looked at Trini with a bit of pride, "We will see you next time you sleep.  Good luck with your hunt tomorrow night."

Trini woke up to find Fox looking at her, "I felt you charging up with magic.  I guess the tutoring is continuing?"

Trini was still a little sleepy when she answered, "Yes."

She yawned, and Fox's eyes softened.  "We can talk about it later.  Let's get more sleep."

They finally got out of bed at noon, and after they were dressed and ready to face the day Fox went to spend time with Alexander, leaving Trini to find something to fill her time with until they had to leave.  Fox had invited her to go with her and Alexander, but Trini wasn't up to pretending to be more cheerful than she really was today.

Trini found she didn’t have the concentration to write today.  She wandered around her room restlessly for a while, before giving up and going out.  She sat down in the kitchen to have lunch at one.  Five minutes later David came in, Trini had the feeling he was monitoring the kitchen for her.

David looked very serious as he sat down at the kitchen table with Trini.  “Fox has me going to the country home alone this weekend, and wants me to pretend to have both of you with me.”  He stared intently into Trini’s eyes.  “Are you okay?”

Trini looked into his eyes, and she knew that he knew what the plans for tonight were.  “I’m scared, but I can do this.”

David nodded at her, and then gave her a small smile.  “We still have a few hours before we pretend to drive off on this vacation.  Let’s go try a few more dances.”

As David led her around the gym floor, she couldn’t help but find this odd.  It was helping to keep her mind off of her problems, and the night ahead of her, which she realized now was David’s goal.  David was a very good dancer, and when she’d seen him and Fox dance, she knew Fox loved to do that.  That alone was incentive to learn how, but this was just fun.

She grabbed her luggage for this fake trip and brought it down to the car.  Owen was driving today, unusual for him, but they couldn’t trust a limo driver with this.  Owen had to be in on some of what was going on as well.  One bag she was bringing with her to Domi’s.  They planned to have David drop them off by a cheap car that was purchased with tonight in mind.  Fox and Domi had bought a couple of disposable cars for this, and Trini couldn’t help but think about the fact that she didn’t even have a car.

Fox grabbed a bag and put it in the trunk of a car so non-descript it could be any sort of sedan.  Owen held the door open and when Trini got out he held her eyes.  “I… didn’t know.  I want you to know how sorry I am that…”  Owen actually didn’t seem to know what to say.  He seemed disturbed.

Trini swallowed and looked down.  It was really only a matter of time before Owen found out, he seemed to find out about everything.  “Thank you.”  She said quietly.  Owen took her bag out of her hand and carried it for her to the other car.

Fox drove them to Domi’s.  They’d have dinner there and head out before sunset.  Domi had the latest surveillance reports.  They were going to have to replace the people they had spying on these men, and in order for Domi to be able to do that it would need to be during the day.  Fox turned to Trini, “We’ll be fine.  This should be over by midnight.”  Trini gave Fox a weak smile and looked out the window.  She didn’t think these men were going to die quickly.  This might last all weekend.

They pulled up at Domi’s home a little before six.  Trini carried the bags inside for Fox, and once again as soon as she stepped onto the porch, Domi opened the door for her.  Trini set the bags down in the entry-way and pulled Domi into a hug.  She could see tension radiating off of the executive, and Trini suspected Domi was like her, both looking forward to and dreading tonight.  She didn’t really want to see these men again, but would be glad when they were no longer out there where she might run into them.

Fox came in and Trini could see her looking at her and Domi, before nodding her understanding and heading into the kitchen.  Domi pulled out of Trini’s arms.  “Did you ever find out if she could cook?”  Domi was looking towards the kitchen, even though they couldn’t see it.

Trini grinned at Domi, “No, I still have no idea.  I haven’t seen any evidence.”  Trini had only seen Fox make sandwiches.  She slowly lost her grin as she stared into Domi’s eyes, “Are you okay?”

Domi completely pulled away and crossed her arms in front of her.  She had an irritated expression on her face.  “I’m fine!”

Trini sighed.  Domi wanted to do this the hard way again.  “Really?  Because to me it looks like you’re as upset about tonight as I am.  I am not looking forward to seeing these bastards again.”   Trini watched as Domi’s shoulders seemed to get a little less tense.

“If you don’t think you can do this…”  Domi spoke gently while placing a hand on Trini’s shoulder.

Trini looked into the now gentle eyes of her gargoyle.  “I can do this.  I just don’t feel all that great about it.  I can admit it.”  Trini said while looking a little stern.

Domi sighed, “Okay, fine.  I’m not happy about seeing them again either, but I am looking forward to showing those humans what happens to those that think they can get away with treating us like they did.”  Domi’s voice was steely and her eyes dangerous by the time she finished talking.

Trini reached over and caressed Domi’s cheek, “Thank you.”  She said quietly, knowing that Domi didn’t like to admit to that, but Trini thought that she should.  She then leaned forward to give Domi a gentle kiss.  Domi pulled her closer and that gentle kiss continued for a while.

When Domi pulled away, she smiled softly at Trini, “Kissing… is one human custom I can appreciate.”  The redhead caressed Trini’s hair.  “It’s just so much more intimate.”

They pulled apart to follow Fox into the kitchen.  The question about whether Fox could cook was about to be tested, because she had started to do that while Domi and Trini were talking.  “I hope you don’t mind Demona, but I think we should eat now, so it isn’t sitting in our stomachs as we chase those men.”  Trini smirked at Domi and sat down at the kitchen island.

“As long as it’s edible, I don’t mind.”  Domi replied with her voice sounding slightly haughty as she sat beside Trini, but then she grinned at Trini.

“I’m betting we need to order pizza.”  Trini’s smile grew as they taunted Fox. Fox lowered her arms, which were holding a pan she had found to use and looked at Trini in mock outrage.

“Maybe in order to save time I should order that now, while she tries to cook.”  Domi inserted with her usual executive no-nonsense voice.

“What is all of this about?”  Fox put the pan on the stove and looked at Trini for a reason why she was being picked on.

Trini’s smile grew, “I’ve never seen you actually cook.  I’m betting you can’t.”  Fox’s eyes looked amused, and there was a grin tugging at her lips.

“How much do you want to bet?”  Trini was surprised at that comment.  She was using it as a figure of speech.  She didn’t have enough money to bet against Fox.

“How much are you willing to lend me so I can?”  Trini smirked, “My tight-fisted boss hasn’t paid me yet.”

“Hey!” Domi’s voice sounded insulted, but Trini could see she wasn’t.  Fox was smiling openly now.  She then turned to start cooking, dropping the topic effectively with Domi being the last one insulted.

They were listening to the stereo and watching Fox cook.  Trini would have lost that bet; she seemed to be doing okay.  Domi was caressing Trini’s hand, which was a new habit.  Trini looked over to see Domi staring intently at the ring on the hand she was paying so much attention to.  Trini then was able to recognize that those caresses were Domi’s attempts to grab onto that ring and get it off.  “Honey, I’m sorry… but they just don’t come off.”  Trini said quietly.  Trini could see that Fox was following what was going on between her and Domi while she stirred.

“I wish you hadn’t been so trusting.” Domi said while continuing to play with the ring.  “Their gifts always come with a price.”

Trini sighed.  She knew that Domi was referring to the immortality.  “Maybe they won’t play games with me.  I am family.”  She stared at Domi until the redhead looked up.  “If you weren’t immortal, I would never have met you.  Maybe that wasn’t entirely horrible.”  Domi gave her a weak smile and nodded, that at least worked out for the better.

“Well, dinner’s almost ready.”  Fox said quietly while reaching into Domi’s cabinets to get some dishes.

Fox had managed to cook an edible dinner, and they ate in relative quiet before pulling out the bags and starting to prepare for the night.  They didn’t want the men to recognize any of them right away, so they were going to have to disguise themselves so they could trail their targets.  Fox’s tattoo had to be covered up, it made it far too easy to identify her to police if anyone should happen to see her.  Fox grabbed a makeup bag and marched into the bathroom to conceal it.  Trini was thinking it would take a lot of makeup to cover up the deep blue fox head that surrounded Fox’s eye.  That tattoo had to have hurt when Fox got it.  Fox was dressed in all black, like Trini, but she’d be wearing a long jacket to cover that.  She’d also be wearing a blonde wig.  Domi was pulling her red hair tight to her head to make room for a wig, because redheads tended to stick out in a crowd.  She was going to be a brunette until nightfall, at which point there really was no disguising her.  Domi was wearing her loincloth and halter-top underneath an easy to take off summer dress.  That dress was definitely a good disguise, because Domi had way more taste than to wear it normally.  Trini’s hair wasn’t as difficult for her to hide under a wig; she was going to be blonde tonight as well.  She had a long trench coat that she’d wear over her own all black outfit.

They were all in Fox’s disposable car two hours before sunset and driving towards the city.  They each had cell phones and were wearing their concealed ear pieces.  It was quiet and tense in the car.  Trini stared out the window, concentrating on staying calm.  This was worse than the stage fright she’d had the first time she sang, and she knew it was because screwing this up would get her a lot more than just embarrassed.

Domi reached up from the back seat and started to knead Trini’s shoulders, “This should be simple for you.  Don’t worry so much Trini.”  The touch was nice, Trini bowed her head forward and Domi brought her other hand up to do both shoulders.  “Just make sure to be aware of your surroundings.”

“I will.”  Trini said quietly.  Out of the corner of her eye she could see that Fox was noticing the massage Trini was getting.  “Don’t let your guy talk you into getting angry and sloppy.  That’s what he does.”  Trini could still remember the taunts and insults he’d sent her way as she was forced to go down on him.

“I know.”  Domi said flatly.  He must have been at least as verbally abusive to Domi when he raped her.  He liked to hear his own voice.

Trini turned to Fox, “I know I’ve told you this before, but Mark… is dangerous.”  Domi had agreed to let Fox get Mark, because Domi was afraid she’d kill him right away when she saw him.  She wanted to make Mark suffer, and a quick death would have ruined that for her.

“I’ll be careful.”  Fox’s eyes were cold, but Trini knew it wasn’t directed at her.  Hopefully Fox wouldn’t kill him too soon either.  Demona would be upset.  Trini was getting a little uncomfortable with the torture idea Demona had, but if that was what her gargoyle wanted… these men deserved it.

Fox dropped Domi off near her target.  Domi had called the man tailing him to know where they were.  They had a van in a remote location that Domi would take her man to by air after dark.  Fox would stuff Mark in the trunk and head to the van, and Trini was about to be dropped off where the other car was so she could do the same with her target.

Fox and Trini were almost to Trini’s car when they heard Domi’s voice in the ear piece, “I sent the tail home and have the target in sight.”  Her voice was a little tense.  Trini felt for the sun.  They’d dropped Domi off first because it was getting close to sunset.  They still had about a half hour.

Trini whispered to herself, “God, I hope she doesn’t lose it.”

“She can do this.”  Fox said quietly.  Trini knew Domi better than Fox did.  Fox was just trying to make her feel better, and it wasn’t working.

Once Trini was in the car she was assigned for the night she made her call to the tail on her target.  Her target was in his apartment.  She drove to an alley nearby and left the car.  The tail was in the pizza place across the street from her targets apartment.  She ordered a drink and sat down beside him.  “I’ve got it.”  She said quietly.  He nodded and got up and left without any fuss.  Fox had told them to expect to be replaced.  If this man did like he’d done for the past few days he’d leave his apartment soon.  She didn’t understand his lack of fear to being out at night after what he’d done.  If she knew Demona would want to skin her alive, she’d leave town, change her name and still not go out at night.  She whispered out to the other two, “Tail relieved, target still in home.”  The pizza place was so noisy that no one noticed her do that.  It was a Saturday night, she could see several teenagers hanging out and being loud.

Ten minutes later Fox’s voice came through the earpiece, “Tail relieved, target sighted but not alone.”

A little after nine pm Trini felt the rush she normally got when the sun went down.  They all knew that Demona could move in on her target until after dark, because she had no car.  When a familiar face stepped out of the apartment building she was watching Trini got up and dumped the rest of her drink, heading outside.  “Target sighted.”  Trini said softly as she started to follow him.

He was walking to his favorite bar, where he would hang out with a few people.  He’d done that for a few nights in a row, and the people assigned to watch him had reported on this predictable behavior.  She could have tried to wait for him there, but she didn’t want to take a chance and have it be the one day he didn’t do that.  It was still early so there were too many people around for her to drag him into an alley and drug him.  She followed him into the bar, and waited to see where he was sitting before grabbing a neighborhood paper and sitting down so she could watch him.

She’d been watching him drinking with two of his friends for an hour before she heard Demona, “Moving in on target.”  Trini’s heart started to beat faster.  She felt her face getting a little paler.  She felt so worried about the blue female.  She took a few deep breaths and forced herself to remain calm.  After a few minutes Demona’s silence was worrying her, and she hadn’t heard from Fox in a while.  She wanted to call to them and see if they were okay, but Fox had explained that too much communication might distract them at a bad moment and cause trouble.  Her target chose that moment to leave.

Trini followed her target on his walk through the park, but she did it by tree so that he wouldn’t notice her.  Her entire body felt tense as she waited to hear from Demona.  Finally it was Fox’s voice that carried over the lines, “Demona… report.”  Trini listened intently, but stayed focused on leaping from tree to tree without disturbing the branches too badly as she trailed her man.

The moments of silence after that had Trini on edge.  Finally Demona’s tense voice could be heard.  “Target acquired and packaged.”  She had the man at the van.

Demona’s voice bothered Trini.  She paused for a moment so she could talk.  “Blue, are you okay?”  She kept her eyes on her target as he walked along the paved paths.  More silence that had Trini more worried.

“He was telling me what I missed while I was unconscious.”  Demona sounded very upset.  Trini’s eyes widened in concern, she thought she’d given Demona enough details to prepare her, but apparently she hadn’t, and Demona’s target was a talker.  Her next jump shook the branch a lot, because her landing wasn’t as graceful as normal.  Her wide eyes turned to her target and she was relieved to see he hadn’t noticed.  There were too many people walking in the park to get him now, she was waiting for a moment without witnesses.  Why hadn’t Demona tranquilized him right away?  It dawned on Trini that Demona was interrogating him about it, she chose the talker as her target so she could find out what had happened to Trini.

Fox’s voice was tense and angry, “We’ll take care of them, but… I need radio silence for a while.”

Trini looked out the tree branches for her target and was upset with herself.  She’d let the conversation distract her, and he had moved almost out of sight around a turn in the path.  Trini sped up in pursuit and managed to catch up with him quickly.  She then followed her man for a while longer before she got the break she was waiting for.  He decided to take a short cut through the trees.  Trini’s face grew a small smile at her luck.  She pulled out her tranquilizer gun and as soon as he was out of sight of the path she fired.  Her aim was perfect, the dart hit him in the neck, and he stopped moving, looking completely shocked.  He went down a moment later, and Trini put the gun away and climbed down quickly to pull him further away from prying eyes.  She grabbed him under his arms and pulled him into the bushes.  She then took a moment to double check that he was out, and that the dart had released all of the drug.  She believed in caution… lots of caution today.  She wasn’t going to be the one to screw this mission up.

Once Trini thought he was hidden well enough, she glanced around and mentally pictured where the best place for her car would be if she wanted to load him into the trunk without being seen.  She stood back away from where she’d hidden his body to double check that he wasn’t visible, and then looked at the tree next to him so that she’d know where he was.

It took all of Trini’s will power to not run to her car and race back to the park.  She managed to move slow enough to not draw attention to herself and was back at the park with her car in fifteen minutes.  She parked as close to a tree as possible to avoid being seen by air as well.  That was another danger, being found by the gargoyles kidnapping this man.  She was still wearing the wig, but if they landed to stop her a wig wasn’t going to fool anyone.

She would have preferred to just carry him to the car, but she had to take him by the side and pretend to just be helping to support him, like she’d done in Seattle with Demona when the gargoyle was unconscious.  It took a lot more of her strength to carry him this way, but if someone happened to see it would be less suspicious.

She walked along the shadows towards her car.  She’d left her trunk unlocked but it looked shut to anyone glancing at it.  There weren’t many cars in the parking lot, and those that were either were empty or had a couple making out.  Trini glanced around carefully to see that she wasn’t in view of anyone than dragged the man to her car and threw the trunk open, tossing him inside quickly.  After he was in she glanced around again for anyone looking at her, no one was.  She pushed his legs in and closed the trunk.  She then just stood there for a moment, taking a breath and letting her heart stop pounding.  Now was the time that she should call in and let the others know she had him, but Fox had asked for radio silence, and she didn’t want to distract her lover at a bad time.

Trini was driving towards the meeting spot and the van they were using to transport these bastards to the warehouse Demona had prepared for this.  She glanced at her watch while waiting for the stop light to change colors, it was eleven thirty.  Fox had said that this would be over by midnight; she hoped that Fox was right, because this radio silence was making her very concerned.  When she looked back up at the road, still waiting for the light, she noticed the car that had pulled up beside her while she was distracted.  The breath caught in her throat.  Elisa and Matt were right next to her.  She leaned forward, using the hair of the blonde wig to hide her face while she silently begged the light to change.  She didn’t dare look over at them to see if they noticed her, so her heart was pounding as she imagined Elisa pulling her over right now.  When it did change and Elisa turned left while Trini went straight Trini released the breath she’d been holding.

Trini pulled up to the van twenty minutes later.  She got out and glanced around, it was a dark alley without anyone in sight, not even her gargoyle.  She walked up to the van and could hear someone moving inside.  She hadn’t called ahead, so she knocked, hoping that it was Demona that was moving around inside.  She pulled her tranquilizer gun out just in case it wasn’t.

“Blue.”  She called out just loud enough for whoever was inside to hear her.  The door opened then, to reveal the gargoyle.  Trini looked down at the floor of the van, and Demona’s target was unconscious and his face was bruised up.  Demona’s eyes were glowing red, and her entire body looked tense.  “I have to unload my guy.”

Demona just quietly followed Trini to the car, and when Trini opened the trunk, Demona picked him up for her and took him to the van.  The gargoyle tossed him none too gently, reminding Trini of how these men had tossed Domi into their van on the way to the barn.

Fox’s voice was slightly loud in their ears suddenly.  The ex-mercenary was talking quickly as well. “I’ve run into trouble.”  Trini could hear gun shots and her eyes widened.  Demona stepped back out of the van immediately.

“Where are you?”  Trini asked quickly while moving to the car.  Demona stopped Trini, putting a hand on her shoulder.

Fox gave her location, and it wasn’t very close.  It would take Trini ten minutes by car.

“Trini, I need you to cover the van.”  Demona said quickly and started to climb up the wall.  Trini stood still, her body trying to go in two directions at once.  She wanted to go to Fox… but she wanted to make sure the van was covered as well.

“He was expecting this… I’m sure of it.” Fox spoke, and Trini could hear Fox calmly telling them what they needed to know while bullets were being fired.  “He has about four others here, and I’m pinned down.  My real gun is almost out of bullets.”

“I’m on my way.”  Demona spoke back before leaping off the building to help Fox.

Trini slowly made her way back to the van, with her heart pounding.  Luna said to just trust them… now she knew what the white haired Fey meant.  It took all of her control to not run after Demona and Fox.  She stepped into the back of the van, looking very pale and closed the door.  Her whole body was shaking.  She needed to check her man for weapons or anything he might try and use against them.  She purposely didn’t look at the other man.  She couldn’t deal with him right now, and she could hear he was still out.

“God Dammit!...” Fox’s voice was replaced by static.  Trini froze for a moment, and then slowly turned her man over, blinking the tears of frustration and fear out of her eyes.  She started to go through his pockets mechanically.  Mark was the most dangerous one… and Fox was there… with him.

Day 13  – Sunday – July 27th

Trini was busy emptying her targets pockets, and when she went to empty his shirt pocket the button fell off.  She picked it up to toss it in with the other stuff, but she noticed something was odd about the back of the button.  She turned in around in her hand and saw something that looked very familiar.  A small metal device just like the one that MacBeth had planted on her in Oregon, it was a tracking device of some sort.  Trini’s eyes widened in alarm as she realized who might have put it there, she turned to look at Domi’s target looking carefully at his buttons.  She noticed it and scooted closer to him.  He was bugged too!  She glanced back at her target.  He had a very routine life, so routine it made it easy to capture him.  She glanced over at the other man… she remembered Domi saying something about his life being so dull he shouldn’t miss it.  He did the same thing every night.  What sane person would do that if they knew Domi was back in New York, even if they didn’t know she knew where they lived?  The Quarrymen were using these men as bait… they probably all had these devices on them somewhere, maybe even a few.  “Shit!”  Trini started to move quickly.

Trini stripped both men quickly, not wanting to miss a device.  She left them in only their underwear.  She threw their clothes into a black garbage bag, and got out of the van, moving quickly out of the alley, away from the van.  She made sure that the button was in the bag as well.  Luck was with her, she saw one guy get out of his car and run into the adult video store with a few videos.  Trini tossed the bag into his open window.  It fell onto the backseats floor, hidden in the darkness.  She then left quickly to return to the van.  She knew she was probably going overboard, but she didn’t want to risk missing even one of those devices.

She was forced to move the van into another nearby alley, in case anyone was able to figure out what happened with the bugs.  She moved to one that she figured would be on Demona’s flight path back.  Trini moved to the back of the van and closed the door solidly behind her as she got in and sat down to watch over the prisoners.  Her thoughts were plagued with worries about what was happening to Fox and Demona.  She only got static over the earpiece, but she left it on, just in case they were able fix that and contact her.

.  She moved to sit as far away from those men as possible while staying in the van.  She wrapped her arms around her knees, which along with her paling skin and glassy eye made her look like a frightened child.  “Luna… this would be so much easier if I knew what was happening.”  She whispered as she thought about the Fey’s comment about trusting Demona and Fox to do what they were supposed to.  She was beginning to think that maybe she should try to go to them… but then if those two were on their way to her, she’d end up screwing up the plan.  Trini noticed that one of her rings started to glow.  She held up that hand and looked more closely, with wide eyes.  The silver band was glowing.

“We can show you what you want to see.”  The Weird Sisters strange triple voice spoke, the sound apparently coming from the ring.

“Wha… what?”  Trini stared at the ring in confusion.  They were able to use it to talk with her?  Were they spying on her too?

“We can show you what is going on with your lovers.”  The Sisters repeated.  Trini was tempted to just say yes, but Domi had told her everything that the Sisters did came with a price.

“How are you talking to me?”  Trini wasn’t comfortable with the idea that she was being spied on.

This time it was a single voice that spoke.  “I expected you to be worried.”  Even though all the sisters sounded the same, Trini knew that was Selene.  “We knew you had plans for tonight, so we’ve been keeping an eye on you.”

Trini’s became more worried, “I have to look after the van.  How… how can you show me?”

“Your bond with Fox… we can show you how to use it to show you her night.  You won’t be bothered while you do this.” The single voice spoke.  “It’s something that only bonded Fey can do.”

Trini took a deep breath.  She wanted to know if Fox was okay, but she didn’t want to invade her privacy.  “Are they both okay?”

The pause had Trini tensing.  “They’re alive.”  Trini sucked in some air at that.  It didn’t sound good when all the Sisters could say was they were alive.  “You need to see what we have to show you.”  Trini felt the blood leave her face at the urgent tone of voice.  Trini stared blankly at the wall, trying to decide what to do.  Selene’s voice spoke with a softness Trini didn’t think the black haired Weird Sister used very often.  “Trini… child… you need to trust me now.  Trust us.  We can help you… but this link isn’t strong enough.  You need to be asleep.”

Her heart was beating very quickly, “Show me.”  She whispered as she grabbed one of the tranquilizer darts out of her pocket.  She emptied it of most of the drug before injecting herself with it.  Hopefully she wouldn’t be out too long, just long enough.  She added more quietly, “Please don’t make me regret this.”

“There are no hidden clauses between us.  You are my blood.” Selene said softly.  Trini had no time to reply to that, because a wave of dizziness hit her and then she was unconscious.

The meadow… that was the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes.  Then she saw the Weird Sisters.  Phoebe held out a hand to help Trini up, since she was sitting on the grass.  Trini was pale and her expression very serious.  Selene nodded slightly and moved forward.  “Your bond is what you need to understand.  It is what ties you to Fox, and Fox to you.”

“Our bond is similar to the one the two of you share.” Luna moved closer and sat down on a boulder.  Phoebe suddenly disappeared, leaving only two Weird Sisters with Trini in the meadow.  Trini glanced around, wondering where the blonde disappeared to.

Selene spoke.  “She went to…”  Selene paused for a moment, “Greece.”  Trini wondered why Phoebe would have gone there.

“The question you should be asking is how we know that is where she is.” Luna leaned forward a little and folded her hands together.  Trini was getting used to their being able to read her mind in these dreams.  It didn’t even startle her anymore.

Phoebe reappeared and smiled at Trini.  “It’s nice to get away once in a while.  Next time I take a break from these two… I’ll take at least a week.”

“I thought… Owen said…” Trini hesitantly voice her confusion, “I thought you three never spent any time apart.”

All three Fey smiled the same exact smile and nodded.  “We don’t.”  They spoke at the same time.

“But… Phoebe just said you do.” Trini was feeling more than a little frustrated with this.  It was nice to talk, but she needed answers and help, not this odd conversation.

Selene moved closer to Trini and put a hand on Trini’s shoulder.  Trini stared into eyes so like her own.  “We may be in different locations, but we are never apart.  No bonded Fey is ever alone.  I can feel my sisters in my heart, can see through their eyes, share their thoughts.  That connection is always there Trinity… your connection to Fox is always there as well.”  Selene stroked Trini’s hair like a grandmother might do to a young child, or at least how Trini imagined one would since she’d never had one, “We were so pleased when we found out you had a bond mate.  It is so incredibly rare that we hadn’t even thought to hope for it for you.  You need to use this bond.”

“I don’t know how.”  Trini was definitely frustrated now.  She had this beautiful bond with Fox, and she couldn’t understand how to use it.  Fox and Demona needed her help!

“You need to feel her, as if she is a part of you.” Selene said as she moved back a step.

It seemed to take a while to get anything to happen… and when it did Trini was shocked at how the bond worked.  She was seeing everything through Fox’s eyes.  She had to close her own eyes, it was too much to have both.

Fox whispered to herself.  “Trini has to be worried sick.”  Mark was in sight, laughing with a few of his friends while sitting on a car across the street from where Fox was standing.  “Demona… report.”  Fox said while pretending to study a map.  Mark wasn’t making any attempt to leave his friends.  Trini was surprised… this was something that happened earlier in the night.  She was seeing it through Fox’s eyes, could hear what Fox had heard, but she didn’t feel anything, like the feel of the paper in Fox’s hands, or the movement of Fox’s body.  It was like a movie.

From the movement of Fox’s vision, Trini figured that her lover had been a bit fidgety while she waited to hear from Demona.  “Target acquired and packaged.”

Fox muttered quietly to herself, “One down… now if my jerk would just wander off alone.”

Trini could hear her own voice, sounding very worried.  “Blue, are you okay?”

Mark and his four friends started to walk down the street.  It was a well-lit street with many little shops.  Fox started to follow, but the sidewalk was so crowded, Mark didn’t seem to notice he was being tailed.

“He was telling me what I missed while I was unconscious.”  Demona sounded very upset.  Trini saw Fox’s hands clench as soon as she heard that, and she seemed to falter in her stride.

“Bastards.”  Fox whispered angrily.  She noticed Mark and the other men go into a dance club.  Fox’s voice was tense and angry, “We’ll take care of them, but… I need radio silence for a while.”  She then crossed the street and paid the cover to go inside.  The dance floor wasn’t over packed this early in the night.  Trini remembered that the good places didn’t tend to get busy until after midnight.  This had to have happened before then.  Fox glanced at the clock above the bar… it was a little after eleven.

Fox purchased a beer and moved to stand and watch Mark.  He was drinking and looking around.  The look in his eye reminded Trini of how he looked at her when he offered to take her to Domi in Canada.  He knew something was up.

Fox moved out onto the dance floor shortly after one of the girls at the club asked Mark to dance.  Trini could see that Fox was keeping Mark in sight the entire time she danced.  Trini’s heart was beating heavily when Fox moved up to Mark and started to dance with him.  Fox was so much more beautiful than the woman dancing with Mark that he started to ignore his partner to focus on Fox.  Trini didn’t want her that close to him, he was a monster!  She had to remind herself that this wasn’t happening right now.

After a few dances Fox leaned in closer to Mark, “Let’s go outside.”  Fox was using her most seductive voice.  Trini was incredibly tense and afraid for Fox.  She knew her lover knew how to fight, but she also knew that things would turn ugly.  Mark led Fox outside, away from the crowds.

In the darkened alley Mark leaned in to kiss Fox, but a surprised look overcame his face before he made contact and he pulled back.  “You raped my lover!”  Fox hissed at him and then Trini heard the sound of a tranquilizer gun going off.

The sound of a few men coming down the alley forced Fox to stop staring at Mark and look up.  Fox then dragged Mark’s body behind a dumpster out of sight.  She spoke to Mark’s unconscious body.  “I’m sure that Demona has something perfect planned for you… You really messed with the wrong people.  There won’t be anymore partying for you!”

Trini could hear Fox sigh as she stood up and prepared to leave the cover of the dumpster.  A gun going off had Fox diving back for it and carefully looking around to see the four men that had gone into the dance club with Mark.  “You work for that Demon, don’t you?”  One of the men hollered out.

“I’ve run into trouble.”  Fox spoke quickly.

“Where are you?”  Trini could hear herself asking.

Fox gave her location, while pulling out her own gun and firing a few bullets to keep the men from coming into the deserted alley.  Trini could see as Fox looked around that it was a dead end.  The only way out was past those men.

“He was expecting this… I’m sure of it.” Fox spoke, and Trini could hear Fox calmly telling them what they needed to know while bullets were being fired.  “He has about four others here, and I’m pinned down.  My real gun is almost out of bullets.”

“I’m on my way.”  Demona voice replied.

As Fox moved the dumpster to make it a better cover she muttered to herself, “I can’t believe Demona’s coming to the rescue.”  The bullets stopped and Fox carefully watched as a man covered the dumpster while two others talked, before one of them ran off.  “Can’t get a clear shot.”  Fox whispered to herself.  Nothing much happened for a while… it was a standoff.  Trini could see that Fox had managed to shot one of the men in the leg and he was leaning up against the dance club wall.  No one was noticing this… no cops were coming to investigate the gun fire.  Only in a city like Manhattan would that happen.

Fox made a motion to call, and was about ready to speak when a net was tossed at her from behind.  “God Dammit!...” Fox’s voice was replaced by static as Trini saw the familiar spark of electricity.

When Fox’s eyes opened again, the first thing that Trini noticed was the bars.  “Welcome to the land of the living.”  Demona’s sarcastic voice spoke.  Fox turned to look at Demona, and Trini cringed at the haunted look in her gargoyles eyes.  She knew why it was there.  Everything about what was happening looked so familiar.  They’d been captured and locked up.  Trini was guessing from the surroundings that the cage they were in was in the back of a semi-truck.

Fox sat up slowly, obviously in a bit of pain.  Fox and Demona were in the same cell.  Fox moved closer and her eyes were drawn to the chains on Demona’s wrists.  Trini hissed… that had to be bringing back horrible memories.

Fox pulled something out of her hair and started to tinker with the locks.  “What happened?”  She asked while wiggling the wire in the keyhole.

“You make an excellent hostage.”  Demona’s voice sounded bitter.  “Trini would be devastated if you died.”  Trini realized that they’d made Demona give up by threatening Fox.  Demona put herself in the hands of those monsters to save Fox for Trini.  Tears started to fall out of Trini’s closed eyes.

Fox’s eyes moved to look at Demona.  “Thank you.”  After an awkward silence Fox continued to work on the manacle.

“They took our communicators.  Can you contact Trini any other way?” Demona sounded deceptively calm.

“I don’t know how to do that.”  Fox’s wire broke.  “God Dammit!”  Demona put her hand over Fox’s.  Trini could hear Fox taking a deep breath.  “We’ll get out of here.  I won’t let them hurt you.” Fox sounded upset.  “I’ve been practicing magic for years… and I still can’t do anything useful!”

“You won’t let anyone hurt me?!” Demona’s voice was full of disbelief.

Fox’s eyes focused on Demona’s, “Trini loves you very much.  It’s like you said… she would be devastated.”  Demona looked like she believed that, but Trini could hear something in her lover’s voice that Demona couldn’t.  Fox wanted to protect Demona, but it didn’t really have as much to do with Trini as she led the gargoyle to believe.

Fox continued to try and unlock the manacles without a key using the now much shorter piece of wire.

“I overheard one of them.  We’re going to the Hunter’s home.  He must live somewhat close by, because the humans were expecting to get there long before the sun rise.”  Fox looked up into Demona’s face and reached up to brush a stray hair back into place for the gargoyle.  Demona looked startled by the familiarity Fox was taking with her.

Trini opened her eyes.  She saw everything, but there was nothing she could use to tell her where exactly her lovers were, just were they were going.  Not that she knew where this hunter lived.  That was the one piece of information she really needed!  They’re in the back of a semi-truck, they could be anywhere!

The groan from Domi’s target startled her, and Trini looked up sharply.  Her first impulse was to drug him again, and she had a dart out ready to do it when another thought came to her.

Trini took the wig off and tossed it in the corner of the van.  She then drugged her target enough to keep him unconscious for a few hours.  She didn’t want to deal with two of them at once.  She moved to sit next to the other man, waiting for him to wake up.  She had some drugs ready to go, but she had a few questions.  They were far enough into the alley that Trini wasn’t too worried that he’d be able to yell loud enough to get help before Trini could sedate him again.  She was grateful his face was so bruised he wasn’t recognizable.  He still gave her a sick feeling just from looking at him.

When his eyes opened, Trini gave him the contemptuous and sadistic look she’d been forced to give to Domi the month before.  “Well, hello.”  She glared down at him.  His arms and legs were tied; Trini had done that when she realized she was going to let him wake up.  She could see his eyes widen in shock.  “Oh, I took care of your little devices…”  She smirked, “Castaway was using you as bait, but if you expected a rescue… it isn’t going to happen.”

“But… your dead!”  He was looking very pale and his voice shook a bit with fear.  This made Trini pause; didn’t they see her when she was running with Domi?   She stared at him with no expression on her face.  He didn’t seem quiet so full of himself now, he looked scared.

She stared into his eyes, “What do you know about this plan to capture Demona?”  She gave him a malicious smirk, “I’d prefer to torture you… so please hold out for at least a little while.”  She was bluffing, because the van wasn’t the best place for that sort of thing, but her cold stare made him believe her.

“I don’t know much, just that Castaway was pissed at us.”  He was speaking quickly, “He told us to wear these bugs at all times, or he’d kill us!”  The bastard had the nerve to sound betrayed.  “He has us meeting with Quarrymen every night out in the open… but we don’t really do anything.”  Trini grimaced.

“Where is he planning to take her?” Trini’s face was staring at him with little expression, her eyes holding a threat she was all to willing to carry out.  She wanted the location of Castaway’s house, but first she needed to see if the man would tell her the truth.   She didn’t want to waste time going to the wrong place.  She didn’t have time to waste.

The man’s eyes widened as he appear to realize just how dangerous Trini was at that moment.  Trini would do anything to get her lovers back, torture was really not something she’d shy away from at this moment, and it showed in her eyes.  “Castaway owns a house outside of the city.  He wanted the Demon brought there.”  Trini proceeded to get some information out of him, but not enough.  He didn’t know where the house was.

Trini’s voice was colder than she’d ever heard herself.  “That’s all I needed to know.”  She drugged him again, feeling a small bit of satisfaction at the fear in his eyes

Trini got out of the back of the van, which didn’t have access to the seats up front, and moved around to get into the van and drive.  She pulled out her cell phone and made a call.  She needed help.

“Owen, something went wrong.  I need some information from you and fast!” Trini spoke with unconscious authority as soon as David’s personal assistant answered.  “I need to know where Castaway’s house is.”

“I’ll start searching.” Owen spoke in his normal unflappable tone.  Trini heard typing shortly after that.  “What is going on?”

“Quarrymen captured Fox and Blue.”  Trini took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down.  She needed to remain in control, she had a job to do.  She decided it was time to bring Owen into what was going on.  “I have one of the rapists here, and he says that Castaway wanted them brought to his home.”

“Blue?” Owen sounded a little puzzled.

         Impatiently Trini answered, “Demona.”

The typing on Owen’s side of the phone stopped for a moment.  “Why is she helping you?”

“She’s my lover too.”  Trini would tell him anything to get him to get back to work.  “Please… I just need that address!”

Trini was pulling out of the alley carefully.  She couldn’t afford to have police pull her over when she had two kidnapped men in the back of her van.  She held the paper she’d written the directions Owen had given to her on.  She drove as fast as she legally could, hoping to beat the semi to its destination.  Owen had offered to come, but Trini didn’t want to risk the clan noticing his absence, and she might have to do something very drastic.  The fewer witnesses to that the better.

When she was a few miles away from the Castaway home she pulled over on a darkened road and drugged her men again.  She was not going to lose them in the confusion!

It was fifteen minutes after two am when she drove past Castaway’s house in the van.  He had a huge yard, like Domi did and two buildings on the estate, a garage and the large house.  She pushed her magic out to see if she could feel Fox yet.  It appeared that she’d beaten them here.  There were lights on in the house, so the Quarrymen’s leader was awake.  She didn’t stop there, she continued to drive until she was a mile away, and then she parked the van.  She took off the jacket she’d been wearing, but put the wig back on.  She had no idea what direction the semi would come from, so she had to make her stand at Castaway’s home.  She moved quickly through the shadows towards his home, while desperately trying to come up with some sort of plan.

The armed guards at the driveway were a surprise.  She hadn’t been able to see them from the road, because they were just inside the brick fence.  Trini felt out again with her magic, and felt a faint trace of Fox.  They were on their way, but Trini had no experience to give her any idea how far away she was able to sense Fox, so she had no idea how long it would be.

She climbed up into a tree to watch the guards and the house while she tried to plan out her move.  Hopefully Fox managed to unlock Demona, because they might all need to fight their way out of there.  Trini stared at the group of Quarrymen seeming to be partying in the house.  Trini had to give up on counting her enemies, because they moved around too much.  She couldn’t sneak onto the estate, because this place probably had cameras all over it.  She started to focus on the two guards dressed in the traditional Quarrymen outfits, one man and one woman.  She’d never seen a female Quarryman before, and by a stroke of luck she didn’t seem too much larger than Trini.

“I can’t believe how ecstatic Castaway is about one gargoyle.  I mean, it’s great we have her… but there are still others out there.” The woman spoke while Trini was loading as many tranquilizer darts into her gun as she could.  She had a plan.  It seemed stupid and risky, but it was better than nothing.  She didn’t think she could just walk up to the Hunter’s door and ask him politely to let them go.

“So, Jesse… how’d you end up joining up?” The male guard asked the woman Trini was watching.  Knowing her name was helpful.

A hateful look overcame the woman’s face, “two of those beasts attacked my brother, and the police had the nerve to arrest him!  They said some shit about him attacking some woman… but it was all bullshit!  He wouldn’t do that!”  Trini sighed at the woman’s denial.  If the gargoyles attacked him, he had to have been doing something wrong.

“I know… some of those cops are so damned blind!” The man agreed quickly.  The man looked over to the house.  “I have to go in.  Someone will be out to cover me in a minute.  It’s nice to have some women starting to join up.  When you meet the others I’m sure you’ll like them.”  He smiled and started to walk to the house.  This was perfect.  If she could only get Jesse to come to her now she could switch places with her.  This woman was a relatively unknown here.

Once he was far enough away Trini climbed down from the tree and started to shake the underbrush loud enough for Jesse to hear.  An evil smile crossed Trini’s lips that would have reminded her of Demona if she’d seen it when Jesse fell for it.

Trini was disappointed in the first part of her plan.  Jesse was laying unconscious in the bushes, in nothing but her underwear, but her clothes were not a very good fit at all.  Trini didn’t have Fox’s gift for judging sizes.  The pants were too long, so Trini had to quickly alter them with her talons.  The pants were also a bit snug, which made it very uncomfortable for her tail.  Trini was going to have to be very careful to not move it at all, because it would be visible.  The shirt was a little big, because Jesse was bustier than Trini, but not so big as to be obvious.  At least it had room for her bullet proof vest under it.  Jesse’s hair was dark brown, so Trini took the blonde wig off because her own black hair was closer in shade and might not be noticed.  She tucked her tranquilizer gun in her pants and picked up the woman’s gun, to quickly return to Jesse’s post, while making a show of adjusting the pants so that if anyone was watching they’d think she’d just gotten back from a trip to the bushes.  Unusual for a woman to do that, but Trini didn’t want anyone to think about checking the bushes and finding the real guard.  She felt bad about doing that to a woman, and from what she’d seen of the Quarrymen, they wouldn’t mind taking advantage of one of their own.

Trini pushed out her magic and could feel that Fox was much closer, but she still couldn’t tell how close.  Now that she was ready, she was silently urging the semi to hurry before she was discovered.  She started to try and replenish her magic as quickly as possible.  She might need it, and she might get lucky and be able to use it as well.  It was rather unpredictable still.

When she saw a man coming out of the house shortly after the loud music started to stream out of it.  The Quarrymen were probably dancing and celebrating catching one gargoyle.  As he walked over to her she gritted her teeth and hoped for the best.  She could see it wasn’t the one that had been here earlier.  “Hey, you’re Jesse right?”  He smiled as he moved to into place on the other side of the driveway enterance.

“Yep.”  Trini smiled at him and nodded.  She stood slightly in the shadows.  It was a dark night, but Castaway had plenty of lights in the yard.

“You ever see a gargoyle before?”  He was flirting with her.  That could be useful; Trini forced herself to act interested.

“No, not in person.”  She gave a slightly malicious grin, “I’m looking forward to it.”

He grinned at her, “Me too.”  After that they chatted about movies for a few minutes, until the semi turned into the driveway.

“Should we check to make sure the gargoyle is locked up?”  Trini turned a questioning gaze to him.  “I’d love to get a good look at it.”  She wasn’t sure if Jesse would have known they had a female gargoyle.  When he appeared to be puffing up with self importance she knew her flirting was about to pay off.

“I wish we could, but Castaway wants the cage put in the garage right away.  We could get into too much trouble.”  He looked a little disappointed.  Trini wanted to try and talk him into it, but a group of men came out of the house to help unload the cage.  “She wouldn’t be able to get out of that cage.”  He studied Trini’s face, “I could get you in to see it after.”

Trini had to force dark thoughts about what it would be after out of her mind, so she could smile gratefully at him.  “That would be great!”

She watched from a distance as the strong men used a forklift to pull the cage out of the semi.  She wanted to just run to Fox and Demona at that moment, but she waited.  She felt like she was making the same mistake she’d made in Canada, hoping for a miracle rather than jumping into a fight.  The other guard had followed the semi.  Trini was alone, nervous, and scared.  She got a determined look on her face and started to quickly move to the garage.  The men had just gone inside, so no one seemed to be watching the guard abandoning her post.

The garage was taller than normal, and the windows in it were up high.  Trini climbed a nearby tree to be able to get to it.  A large blonde man was standing in front of the cage, which had been placed up against one of the walls.  “Well, Demon, it’s nice of you to drop by.”  The glance he gave Fox had the hairs on the back of Trini’s neck standing up.  “I see you got a new human after the last one died.  Your tastes have definitely changed.”  Trini could see six other Quarrymen inside.  She wasn’t going to wait for Castaway to try anything.  She was going to act!

She opened the window further and quickly and quietly climbed in.  As soon as she was inside she got on top of a rafter and stood still to see if anyone noticed her.  All eyes were on Demona.  “That last race traitor… was quite a lover wasn’t she?  I saw the footage a few minutes ago.”  His voice was malicious.  Fox jumped up from her seat on the ground and tried to reach out to him, rage in her eyes.  It was Demona that pulled her back, out of Castaway’s reach.  “We brought over Mark’s entire collection of tapes.  But I’d have to say that one was the best.”

“No, just let it go.  He’s trying to piss us off.”  Demona murmured quietly, but her own eyes were blazing red.  Trini noticed that Demona was holding Fox away from the edges of the cage.

Trini pulled the dart gun out quietly and checked her darts.  She had enough, but she’d want to hit as many as she could quickly before they noticed and started to shoot back or take cover.

“Or did you acquire the taste for humans after you got that nice long fuck?”  Trini’s eyes were blazing as Castaway taunted Demona about her rape.  She started firing her tranquilizer darts at the men in the back and worked her way forward, so that no one would see them collapsing.  Unfortunately they heard it after Trini had taken out four of them.  Trini had to leap off the rafter as gunfire was aimed her way.  She rolled on the ground and continued firing, taking out two more, which left Castaway and another man.  She aimed at the large blonde bastard… but her gun didn’t go off.  It was jammed.  Her eyes widened as his smile grew.  His lackey ran up to her, so she hit him hard, sending him into the side of the cage unconscious or dead… she didn’t really care at that point.  She didn’t notice him convulse before falling to the ground, still spasming.

“My God!  It’s you, you’re alive!”  Castaway sounded shocked.  He held a gun aimed at her.  While Trini tried to think of a way out of this the sound of a gunshot cracked through the air and she was tossed back into the metal containers behind her.  She could see through slightly opened eyes that Castaway still had a gun on her, so she pretended to be unconscious.  Her chest ached where the bullet-proof vest stopped the bullet.

“Leave her alone!”  Demona yelled out at the Hunter.  Trini could hear fear under the demand.  She was waiting for Castaway to glance away, just for a moment, so she would have time to move.  He continued to stare at her, rather than turning to address Demona.

“I guess she wasn’t as hurt as Mark told me.”  Castaway said quietly.  He added more loudly, “You killed my father right in front of me and my brother and sister Demon!  Maybe this will show you how that felt.”  Trini rolled quickly as he pulled the trigger.  The bullet barely missed her head.  She swept his feet out from under him with her leg.  His head hit the ground hard, knocking him out.

“He wouldn’t have died if the idiot just kept away, but no he dragged his children around with him to practice killing gargoyles.  He was a sick bastard… deserved what he got.”  Trini hissed at the man while going through his pockets.  It was this man’s father that had killed off half of her father’s clan, which resulted in her and her father’s banishment from that clan.  She was beyond bitter about that!  She found a large keychain and got up to walk it over to the cage to see if any of them worked on the door.

“Bars are electrocuted.”  Demona told her quickly, before Trini could reach out to touch them.

Trini looked up at her gargoyle.  She had only one key that looked like it might work.  “I think this is the key.”  Trini had a very serious expression on her face, as she accepted the fact that this would hurt.  She couldn’t imagine that no one heard the gunshots.  Someone was going to come in and Trini wanted these two out and safe before that happened.  Before either of the caged females could protest Trini inserted the key, and the pain had her body convulsing, but she managed somehow to turn the key and pulled open the door as she fell to the floor.  She couldn’t let go of the key, it was like her hand was welded to it.  White hot pain wracked her body, and she wasn’t able to think, or see, or hear… anything.  A blue foot kicked her away from the cage, stopping the electricity from coursing through her body.  She blacked out for a brief moment.

“Trini… oh, god.”  Fox was kneeling beside her in less than a minute.

Trini opened her eyes and smiled at Fox to try and ease her worry.  Fox helped her sit up.  Trini’s entire body ached from the unnatural ways that the electricity forced her body to spasm.  It had to be scary to watch.  When she spoke, her voice was raspy and weak.  “I left the van a mile down the road.  We need to get out of here, he has a party going on in the house.”  She winced at the word party, remembering how Mark used that word to describe rape.

“They were planning on bringing Mark in another car.”  Demona spoke while reaching down to help Trini to her feet.  Apparently the word party reminded the gargoyle of that man as well.  Demona started to caress Trini’s hair, and spoke more quietly, “You need a little time to recover.  That was a very strong jolt you took.”  Fox’s hand fell on Trini’s shoulder, and even though Trini was in pain… it felt so good to have the affection of both Fox and Demona.

“How the hell did you find us?”  Fox asked while squeezing Trini’s shoulder.

“Magic.”  Trini said quickly, while trying stretch out her other sore muscles.  “Magic and Owen’s computer.”

Once Trini was feeling a bit better Demona stepped away to glare at the Hunter.  Fox spoke, “We kill him now, we make him a martyr and the Quarrymen cause will continue.  We need to destroy his reputation before we kill him.”  Demona looked over at Fox and Trini could see the surprise on her face.  Fox was willing to help with quite a few murders.  The fact that he knew about the rapes and seemed to approve probably sealed his fate.

“That damned tape has to be in his house.”  Demona said coldly after a moment.  Trini glanced over at Fox.  The woman still had her brunette wig on, and it was a close match for Jesse’s hair.

“I can try to go in and find it.”  Trini said softly.  “I’d need your wig.”  She spoke to Fox, who was starting to look very concerned.  “The woman I stole these close from was a brunette.”

It took a lot of convincing, but Trini was now walking towards the house on a fake mission for Castaway.  In the end it was Trini’s immortality and the fact that she had met the woman she was impersonating that won the argument with Fox over who should do this.  Her heart was pounding in her heart as loud as the music inside was pounding on her eardrums.  Fox and Demona were going to slip back to the van, and wait for Mark’s ride to go by so that they could catch him.

Trini opened the front door, trying to act like she belonged there.  She moved around the alarmingly full house looking for televisions.  Hopefully he left the tape in the VCR.  Different men nodded and smiled at who they thought was the one female Quarryman here.  She picked up a drink, to look like the others and semi-danced her way through the living room to check out that tv.  She really hoped he didn’t watch it here, or her face would be very familiar to these bastards.  The TV was off as everyone chatted.  Trini checked and there was no tape in the VCR.  She didn’t see any tapes around the area either.  She moved on to look into the other rooms on the first floor.  She ended up being forced to dance a full dance with one man that would have made too much of a fuss if she refused.  She managed to laugh and smile as if she were having fun.  She now knew Demona was right when she’d said that Trini knew how to act.

She climbed the stairs quickly; her heart pounding as she left what she was now considering the safety of the crowd.  In a large crowd, no one questioned her right to be there.  “What are you doing?”  A man’s voice asked as Trini closed the door to one bedroom after having noted it had no television.

Trini blushed, “I was looking for the bathroom up here.”  She looked sheepish and embarrassed, but not guilty.  It worked.  He showed her to a door.  Trini smiled and went in to pretend to go.  She’d already checked half of the doors upstairs.  When she came back out she was once again alone in the hall.

The next door Trini tried was locked.  Trini pushed on it until the lock gave way and the door opened into an office with a television.  Trini quickly went inside and closed the door behind her.  She fumbled with the VCR and found an unlabeled tape inside.  She felt sick doing this, but she had to make sure she had the right one.  She turned the TV on and turned the sound way down before hitting play.  It took a moment before she was able to see Mark pounding into Domi.  She stopped the tape quickly, not wanting to see that, and ejected it.  She turned to go, but then stopped when she noticed the pile of tapes, all unmarked.  What if they were all copies?  Trini’s face was pale and she was feeling hot and sick as she fought of the horror of that night so that she could think.  She should just take them all, she didn’t have time to double check each one.   She looked around the office for something to carry the tapes in, because she didn’t want her hands taken up as she left.  She found a backpack in the closet and quickly tossed the contents out so she could shove over a dozen tapes inside of it.

She was getting ready to try and leave the office and sneak out the front door, but the office door opening stopped her.  “You’re not Jesse!”  The man spoke loudly, and Trini could hear more people coming there way.  She turned and bumped into the entertainment center in the office as she headed for the window.  It knocked open a door, showing a second VCR that she never noticed as she crashed through the closed window and fell from the second story to land on her feet.

She had to spin around and shoot a few darts into the approaching crowd of about twelve quarrymen to make them slow down.  As soon as she made it around the corner of the brick fence she jumped into the trees, hoping they didn’t see where she went.  Her heart was hammering and she started to move as quickly as she could from tree to tree while trying not to draw attention to the trees by swaying the branches.  The backpack on her back was a small distraction as she tried to not get it caught on any branches.  She could hear the enemies’ shouts of confusion when it appeared that she had vanished.

She could see the van, and Fox in the driver’s seat.  She ran to the back of the van and opened the door, to find Demona in an attack pose, which disappeared as she saw Trini.  Trini noticed that Mark was there, unconscious, and still dressed.  “His clothes are bugged.”  Trini moved beside the asshole, never really looking closely at him.  The van door closed and Demona pounded on the wall between them and Fox.  Trini could feel the van moving quickly.  Trini started removing his clothes quickly and tossing them towards the van doors.

Once she had everything but his underwear off she looked up to see Demona’s tense eyes watching her.  “I didn’t know they were bugged.  This was a trap.”  Trini nodded and opened the back of the van.  She could see the road racing underneath them and it made her feel unbalanced.  She tossed the clothes out and noticed a few cars in the distance.

“Great, they’re chasing us.”  Trini sighed.  She had hoped that they had gotten away and she could relax.  She tossed the backpack in the corner of the van.

“I think we could use a window here.”  Demona dug her talons into the wall separating them from Fox and cut out a hole.  The van swerved as Fox was probably startled.  Demona then spoke calmly through it, “We’ve got three cars coming up fast.  Can we borrow your gun?”  After a moment a gun was passed through the new hole in the van.

Demona handed it to Trini.  “It’s just like the tranquilizer gun, but with a big kick-back.”

“You aren’t going to make her kill someone are you?!”  Fox yelled back, obviously upset with that idea.

“Just a little target practice.”  Demona yelled out over the wind in the back of the van.  The door was still opened.  Trini just stared at Demona.  The gargoyle was turning this into a lesson?  Demona smiled conspiratorially at Trini and picked up her own gun to show Trini how to use it.  She spoke more quietly, “You can aim for the tires if you want.”

Bullets started to come their way as the Quarrymen felt they were close enough to shot.  Trini aimed carefully at the front car and fired.  She missed completely.  She tried a few more times, but the moving targets were hard, and the fact that she was being jostled around in the van didn’t help.  “Dammit, I’m wasting ammo!”  While she was complaining one of the men in a car managed to nail her with a bullet.  It knocked Trini back into the partition wall.

“TRINI!”  Fox yelled as the van swerved, almost knocking Demona off her feet as well.

“I’m fine.  Got the vest again.”  Trini shakily got to her feet and returned to the open door.  Her chest stung where the bullet had been stopped by her bullet-proof vest.  It had definitely been worth having tonight.

Demona fired a few times and one of the cars swerved as their tire blew.  “You need to take into account that they are moving and try to aim for where you think they will be once it gets there.”  She smiled ferally and turned back out the open door to take out another car.  “You try the last one.”

Trini smiled and hugged Demona after she managed to take out the last car with only six tries.  Once she let go of the gargoyle Demona reached out and closed the open door.  “Looks all clear Fox.”  After a few seconds the van didn’t seem to be going quite as fast.

“Good, anyone want to tell me where we are?” Fox called back.

Trini moved towards the opening and looked out the windshield.  “Turn left at the light and follow the road until we get to the freeway.”  Trini took a deep breath and slid down the wall to sit on the floor.  She could see Demona looking at the captured men.  The gargoyle’s body was tense as she tried to remain standing.  “Don’t look at them too closely.  That’s how I deal with it.”  Trini said softly.

Demona’s eyes quickly went to Trini’s, “Fox could pull over and let you ride in front.”  The blue female sounded so concerned it made Trini smile.  She was so lucky to have two wonderful mates.

“I’m not leaving you alone back here.  I can take it.”  Trini held out a hand to encourage Demona to come sit in front of her.  Demona gave her a questioning look, but did it.  Trini pulled her back so that the gargoyle’s back was resting on her.  “I love you so much.”  Trini whispered into Demona’s ear, and then hugged her tightly.  The gargoyle slowly relaxed into the embrace.

Fox pulled the van into the warehouse at almost four am.  Trini was glad, because it was a very tense ride, sitting in back with these men.  The men stayed unconscious for the whole trip, but Trini’s memory was filling in for it.  When they were raping her, she forced herself to not think about herself.  She spent that time worrying about Domi.  It helped to keep her strong, but now, with them right here, she realized how scared and violated she’d been.  The abuse that Trini received from these men was nothing compared to what they must have done to Domi… she had no idea how the gargoyle was handling this.  Trini constantly pet Demona’s hair, her arms, anything non-sexual she could reach while they drove.

Demona spoke softly as she moved to stand up.  “This is almost over.”  She reached down to help Trini up, which was good, because Trini had allowed her legs to go numb, rather than move and have Demona decide to stop leaning on her.

They unloaded the men quickly and carried them to a caged area in the warehouse.  The building had no windows, and was far from anyplace that might actually have people coming by.  Now they just had to wait until the men woke up.  Trini had no idea what Demona wanted to do to them, but it wouldn’t be easy to watch, she knew that much.  She was now kind of glad the young one had died from her accidentally over-dosing him.  She felt a little sick when Demona carried the dead man in and propped him up in the corner; it seemed so much like what they’d done to her.  She then chained Mark down on the army type bed she’d placed in the small area.  He was spread eagle, much like Domi had been.  The other man was just chained to the bars surrounding the area.

The hand that rested on Trini’s shoulder startled her and made her jump.  She turned to see Fox looking at her with concern.  “You okay honey?”  Trini gave her a weak smile and pulled Fox’s arms around her body to hug Trini from behind as she watched Demona, who was looking kind of scary.  The gargoyle’s eyes were burning and the gleeful expression on her face made Trini wonder if she’d gone insane.  The blue female was looking forward to this torture session as if she were a child going to Disneyland, and that made Trini a little sick.

Fox left to take care of dumping the van while they still had some night left.  Demona went with her to bring the Fey back to the warehouse once that was taken care of.  They had another vehicle here with them, one that hadn’t been spotted in a kidnapping.  This left Trini alone… with them.  She heard the warehouse doors slam shut behind her lovers, and noticed the talkative rapist groan at that noise.  He was waking up.

Trini’s heart sped up as her eyes narrowed at this bastard.  After what he’d done to her and Domi, she wanted to hurt him, terrify him, before he died.  She was shocked at the rage that she felt at that moment, and it scared her.  She took a seat on one of the stools Demona had supplied for them and waited.

“Ugh…”  He moaned out groggily as consciousness reasserted itself.  She watched as he pulled on his arms, which were above his head fastened to the cage, his tugging became more frantic as he realized what was happening.

“A gargoyle wouldn’t be able to break that chain, give it up.”  Trini said, her voice flat and emotionless.  That startled him.  He tried to turn so he could see her, but she’d put her chair behind him.

“Who are you?  What do you want with me?”  He sounded frightened.  Trini was surprised that he didn’t seem to remember waking up in the van.  Those drugs must be strong.  Trini didn’t answer him, she just stared at the back of his head.  She had no idea what to tell him.  She wanted him to die, horribly, painfully.  She wanted his death to take away her nightmares, to take away the fact that she’d hurt the gargoyle.  He couldn’t do that, even the Weird Sisters couldn’t do that.  “Please… what do you want?”  He pleaded pitifully.  He wasn’t so arrogant and rude when he was in danger.

“I want to kill you, but I’m waiting for Demona.  She deserves that honor, don’t you think?”  Her voice was cold.  She got up off the stool and walked around the ten by ten cage so that he could see her.  “She’s my friend… you fucking bastards made me rape my friend!”  She could see his eyes widening, she even imagined that she could smell his fearful sweat.  “And you touched her…”  Trini growled in anger, “You fucking filthy monsters!”  She started to scream at him, so she took a few deep breaths to try and calm down.  When she spoke again, her voice was calm, controlled, “I killed the four in the barn… did you get to see that?”

He went pale, “You… but you were dead.  I saw you… I double checked.  You were dead.”  That made Trini pause.  He made it sound like her heart had stopped, like he didn’t get a pulse.  She didn’t realize that she’d actually died.  He whispered in horror, “How can you be alive?”

She smiled evilly at him, and noticed the stench of piss entering the air.  He was truly pathetic.  She just shook her head from side to side and went back to her seat quietly.

Mark shifted his head and looked at her.  She hadn’t even noticed him come to.  “You obviously fucked up.”  He addressed his friend and then stared into Trini’s eyes defiantly, “Your friend, that beast… was really tight, tightest I had in a long time, course she’s probably pretty loose now.”

Trini’s hissed in anger and her eyes burned red.  She didn’t even think about what she was doing.  She moved closer to the cage and spoke to the now not so talkative man, “If you do something for me I could probably make things a little easier on you.”  Her body was shaking a little, in anger or fear… she didn’t know.  Mark was staring at her in shock.

Trini ran her hands through her hair again.  She felt like tearing it out.  What… what were Fox and Demona going to think of her now?  It seemed like poetic justice at the time, but watching… was making her stomach hurt.  She wanted to throw up.  She’d learned the talkative one’s name was Carl.  She found that out as Mark begged him to not do what Trini had told him to do.  Mark couldn’t beg or plead or insult anyone right now, because he was being forced to use his mouth for something else.  He was still chained to the bed, but Carl was free to move about the cell.

She could hear the warehouse door open.  They were back just in time to hear Mark scream in pain as Carl shoved himself inside Mark’s ass.  Carl was more than willing to do anything Trini told him to, he was terrified of Demona, of what that gargoyle would do to him.  Trini had no intention of letting him go like she’d promised.

Trini took a deep breath, and tried to dry her tears as she heard the rapid footsteps coming her way.  “Trini!”  Fox yelled out as she pushed open the door to the room they were using for this.  Domi followed close behind her.  Trini hadn’t even noticed that the sun came up.  Both women took in the scene of the rape going on with wide eyes.  Trini took a shuddering breath, afraid that they’d think she was a monster.  “Good your back… I need to go to the bathroom.”  She said quietly while quickly leaving the room.  She made it into the dilapidated room that used to serve as a bathroom for this warehouse and stared into the broken mirror.  Her reflection was cracked, but she could see she was pale as death.  When the door opened she didn’t even look to see who it was.  It didn’t really matter.  “I’m so sorry you saw that.”  She whispered.

“Trini…”  Fox’s soft tender concern made Trini look over at the doorway.  “Are you okay?”  Trini shook her head no.  She was feeling very far from okay at the moment.

“Mark… I just… snapped.”  Trini spoke brokenly, her breath ragged with tears.  “Carl will do anything if you promise him he can live.”  She whispered, “I lied to him.”

A loud male scream could be heard ringing through the warehouse.  “I guess Domi’s working.”  Trini said softly while glancing at the doorway.  She pushed away from the sink with reluctant resolve.  “I have to go back.”

Fox’s eyes widened as she stepped closer, “You don’t want to see this.”

Trini’s eyes teared up, “I can’t leave her alone.  She needs someone to watch out for her.”

“Trini… I don’t think you should see this.  I’ll go.”  Fox caressed Trini’s hair.  “She didn’t want you to see her like this.”  Fox pulled Trini closer, “She told me she was afraid of how you’d react to their being tortured.”  Trini’s body was obviously shaking in Fox’s arms.  “I have to agree with her.  You… you’re just too sweet for this.”  Another scream cut through the air, causing Trini to shake even more.  She didn’t want to see this.  They deserved it, but she didn’t want to see it.  She was horrified by what she’d already seen, what she’d done.

Trini looked deep into Fox’s eyes, for any sign of disgust.  “I told him to rape Mark.”

Fox’s eyes hardened, and Trini was afraid that it was because of what she’d done, “That is the best case of letting the punishment fit the crime I’ve ever heard.”

“It didn’t make me feel any better.”  Trini let her tears fall down her face without trying to wipe them up.  “What Domi’s doing isn’t going to make her feel any better either.  Go in there… I don’t want her to be alone.”

Trini sat in the corner of another room, with her arms wrapped around her knees.  She flinched at every scream, until the screams stopped.  “Selene, I don’t think she’s handling this vengeance very well.”  A familiar voice spoke, but Trini didn’t turn to see them.  She could feel them in the room, but she didn’t think she was asleep.  It would be impossible to sleep through this.  The blonde sister squatted down beside Trini.  “What are you thinking?”

Trini blinked, surprised that they didn’t know.  “I want her to kill them and get it over with.  Put them out of everyone’s misery.”

“Tell her that then.”  Phoebe sighed, “When Selene goes too far I have to tell her.  Your gargoyle can be just as blood-thirsty as my sister at times.”

“She won’t listen to Fox, but she will listen to you.” Luna spoke quietly.  Trini woke with a start, and then got up off the floor.  She didn’t hear the rest of the sisters’ conversation, since they were now fading from her awareness.

“Vengeance isn’t her path.”  Phoebe spoke quietly.

“I’m proud of how she handled this anyhow.” Selene spoke fondly, “She’ll find her own path.”

“That may be.  Her path will be different, and yet similar to ours.” Luna spoke cryptically as they faded away.

Trini took a deep breath to try and calm her nerves before she entered the room.  It didn’t work, because the smell of blood was thick in the air.  She stood in the doorway, “Domi… just kill them already!”  She spoke loudly, to try and get through to the woman wielding the knife.  Fox looked sick as she stood in the corner.  Trini could see why she’d be sick, the blood was congealing on the floor by the cage.  Mark and Carl had been castrated, and also had several ugly cuts on their bodies.  Trini was pretty sure she could see some of Carl’s leg bone under the deep and gruesome cut to his thigh.  Mark’s chest was a mass of blood.  Amazingly they were both conscious.  Trini tried to not look too hard at their faces, because that was were Domi had stuffed the severed penises as a gag.

Trini watched as the madness drained from Domi’s eyes.  The gleeful, vicious look left the redheads face and she looked at Trini with such a vulnerable look in her eyes.  Domi was probably seeing that it wasn’t helping, torturing these men didn’t ease her pain either.  “Do you want me to do it?”  Trini said softly while walking closer, entering the cage with Domi.  Mark was still on the bed, but Carl had been re-chained to the cage wall after she’d left the last time.  Domi made no motion to hand over her weapon.  Trini glanced over at Fox, who was watching this conversation with interest, and then back at Domi.  “If you don’t do it right now, I will.”

“Get out of the cage.  I don’t want these filth to bleed on you.”  Domi said quietly, no hint of her madness.  Trini nodded and did as she was told.  She could hear the killing blows being delivered behind her back, but she didn’t turn around to look.

They had to have Domi rinse off the blood that had splattered all over her before giving her a change of clothes.  Trini could feel that the water coming out of the hose was freezing cold, but Domi didn’t flinch.  Trini noticed that Fox had some blood on her as well.  She imagined her ex-mercenary may have inflicted some of the damage as well, because she hadn’t been standing in a place that got bloody when Trini came in.  Trini slowly re-entered the cage, ignoring the amazed stares of her lovers as she squatted by the youngest man, the one that had died before he got there, “I’m sorry.”  She whispered to him and reached out to close his eyes.  She felt a pang of guilt about his death, and about the way his family was going to find him.  “Your only crime was to follow monsters.”  She sighed as she stood up left the cage with a heavy heart.  There was no healing to be found here, and now she would carry some guilt over that one man’s death with her for a long time.  She didn’t notice the concerned and thoughtful gaze that Domi was sending her way.

Trini was rubbing her forehead almost obsessively as they quietly drove to Domi’s home.  That was one of the sickest, bloodiest messes she’d ever seen.  The police department was going to be horrified when they discovered the mutilated corpses in that cage.  Trini idly wondered if Elisa would be called to the case.  She hoped not, because it was a gruesome nightmare inducing scene.  They would have burned the bodies, but in this neighborhood the fire would spread too quickly.  Domi had wanted to set the blaze, but Fox insisted that homeless people lived in some of the nearby warehouses.  Trini cast the deciding vote for no fire.

Trini trudged into the house, feeling exhausted.  “I need a shower.”  She spoke quietly and didn’t even slow down as she climbed the stairs to the bedroom.  She also needed a nap, but she didn’t think she had time for that.  There was a time when she would have been concerned about leaving Fox and Domi alone together, but that time had past.  She wasn’t really surprised when she got out of the shower to find Domi getting ready to get in.  They could only rinse so much of the blood off of her where they’d been.  “Do you need help?”  Trini felt too weary to do it, but she wanted to be there for the subdued looking redhead.

“No… Just a quick shower.  Maybe another time.”  Domi stepped inside without giving Trini another glance.

Trini wandered out into the bedroom, and moved to lay down on the bed, just for a moment.  Her exhaustion claimed her quickly and she fell asleep.  Fox came in and stopped just inside the doorway, staring at Trini while ceasing the drying of her own hair.

Trini woke up a few hours later, to feel a body pressed against her back, while seeing another in front of her.  She was sandwiched between both redheads, who from the sounds of the breathing, were both sound asleep as well.  A small smile came to her lips as she allowed herself to fall back to sleep.  There were no nightmares… and no visits from the Weird Sisters.

Trini woke up to Domi’s moans of distress.  She was having another nightmare.  Trini hadn’t had to comfort Domi like this in a while.  She pulled Domi closer and started to murmur softly.  “I’ve got you baby… it’s okay.  I won’t let anyone hurt you.”  Trini stiffened a little when she felt Fox move behind her.  Fox was awake and witnessing Domi like this.  When it became apparent that Domi’s nightmare was only getting worse, Trini had to ignore the audience and continue.  She started to pet Domi’s hair and murmur softly, “It’s okay… we’re safe.  It’s over.”  She said this repeatedly until Domi calmed down.  She sighed heavily as she released her strong grip on Domi.  “I had hoped killing them would help with this.”  Trini said quietly to Fox even though she couldn’t see her, because Fox was behind her.  “At least she’s getting better.  Her nightmares used to be much worse.”

Fox spoke quietly, “She was hardly making any noise when you woke up.”

“I’ve… learned to try and cut them off before they really get going.”  Trini was staring down at Domi’s now peaceful face.

“Trini… I…” Fox sounded troubled.  Trini rolled over carefully so as to not wake Domi and looked at Fox.  The Fey had washed off her make-up, so her trademark tattoo was back.  “How did you use magic to find us?”

Trini took a deep breath.  She realized what she’d done was intrusive.  “Maybe we should go to the living room, so Domi can sleep.”

Fox and Trini sat facing each other on the couch.  “I had help.  The Weird Sisters…”  She paused briefly at the short lived look of concern on Fox’s face.  “I gave myself a little bit of that drug to knock myself out.  They explained how our bond works.  It’s… really amazing Fox.”  Trini’s voice was a little higher with her excitement.  “We can see through each other’s eyes… communicate telepathically… I don’t know what else.”

“What did you do?”  Fox sounded just a little worried.  It calmed Trini down instantly.

“I would have asked first, but you were in danger.”  Trini took a deep breath.  “I couldn’t control it very well.  I saw your night from when you were watching him talking with his friends before going to the nightclub until shortly after you woke up in the back of the truck.”

Fox looked down at her own bare feet resting on the couch.  “I’ve been studying magic for years.  How are you able to do all of this with hardly any training?”

Trini could see that Fox was feeling stupid.  “Maybe you have the wrong teacher.   Maybe now that we have this bond it will be different.  They seemed to think that Puck’s lack of understanding of our bond would make him a poor teacher for me.”  She spoke more quietly, “I wasn’t able to do any magic before I was with you, and there were times… that it was desperately needed.”  Trini sighed.  If she had been able to do magic, she could have prevented the rape, might have been able to save her mother… who knows how much pain she could have avoided.  “Maybe you need to talk with Selene.”

Fox sat quietly for a while, and Trini didn’t interrupt her as she thought.  She remembered how Fox had wished she could save Demona and herself with magic while they were captured.  Trini’s picking up magic so quickly must be making her feel even worse about her inability to use her own.  “How?”

“I’ll ask her.  They only visit me when I’m sleeping.  I’m sure there is a way.”  Trini hoped that she was right about Fox only needing a better teacher, or this would be embarrassing for her lover.

Trini and Fox had a lunch almost ready when Domi came downstairs.  Trini was betting that Domi hadn’t bothered with sleep the night before last, which would explain why she’d sleep so soundly.  “You two cooking my food again?”  She smiled weakly at Trini and Fox.  Trini set the plates down for Fox and walked around the kitchen island to pull Domi into a hug.  Domi’s arms wrapped around her instantly, and her grip was a little strong, as if afraid that Trini would pull away.

Trini whispered into Domi’s ear, “I love you.”  She could feel Domi start to relax after she said that.

“I love you too.”  Domi pulled back a bit and then kissed Trini tenderly, totally ignoring the fact that Fox was watching every move they made.

After a relatively quiet and tense lunch they just stayed sitting at the table.  It was Fox that finally, reluctantly spoke, and Trini had known this was coming.  “I think those tapes… aren’t all about, what… well… happened to the two of you.”  Fox was obviously having a hard time talking about that rape right now.  “We should send the others to the police.  It might help us with destroying the Quarrymen if the police were to discover that those bastards were with them.  They might also say something that could be useful in our attempts to destroy the Quarrymen.”

Trini took a deep breath, but Domi spoke first, “Some of those tapes might be copies.  I’d have to… watch them to make sure we didn’t send the wrong one.”  Domi seemed a little paler to Trini.

“I could watch some of them.”  Trini said very quietly, “You shouldn’t have to do it all.”  There were fifteen tapes, that could be up to 30 hours of rape tapes.

Fox’s eyes were very determined looking, “I could do it.  You two shouldn’t have to see that… you’re just beginning to heal.”  Fox’s eyes traveled to Trini.

Trini stared down at the table.  She didn’t want Fox seeing her rape Domi… but she didn’t want Domi to see that again from the outside either.  As much as the thought of watching those tapes horrified her, she would have preferred to do it all herself to spare the others.

Domi was watching Trini.  “We could use the help.”  The gargoyle in human form said quietly.

Trini looked up sharply, “But I thought you didn’t want anyone else to ever see that.”  Domi was willing to have Fox see her rape?  That was so unlike her.

Trini watched Domi take a deep breath.  “I… would rather Fox saw it than you right now.”  Domi’s eyes started to tear up.  “I want you to be able to touch me.  I want to be able to make love to you, without that haunting you.”  Trini slowly put her hand over her mouth, as tears flooded her own eyes.  Fox took a shuddering breath, which Trini heard, but she kept her eyes on Domi.  She reached out her other hand to put it over Domi’s.  Domi’s teary eyes burned through Trini’s soul.

“I love you…”  Trini didn’t know what to say, Domi was hurting.  “We’ll get through this.”

“I know… but, I don’t… I just don’t want you to see that.”  Domi took a shuddering breath.  “It was really… bad.  The parts you weren’t able to remember were…”  She stopped talking for a moment.  “Please, Trini.  I want Fox and I to take care of this.”

Trini turned to stare at the table for a moment.  Her rape was on those tapes as well.  She looked over to Fox, who was staying quiet for this entire discussion.  “I did things…”  She started, but couldn’t finish.

“None of it was your fault.”  Fox said gently.  “I understand.”

Trini looked between the two of them.  Domi had her reasons, and she was going to respect that.  “Okay.”  She paused,  “I could still help, but if I run into our tape I could just set it aside for… someone else.”  She could see Domi about to protest.  Trini spoke gently, “If I say I won’t watch it… I won’t.  This is important to you.  I…can respect your privacy in this.”  She still felt a twinge of pain at the fact that her own rape was now going to be seen… that one of her lovers would see how she’d been treated… would hear the disgusting things that they’d said about her.  The only thing that kept her from protesting that fact was that she knew that Domi had been treated much worse… and someone had to watch them.  She didn’t want to see what they’d done to Domi.

Domi watched her for a moment.  “I believe you.”  Domi gave Trini a weak smile.  “It’s nice to have someone I can trust like this.”

Domi had a TV in the living room, one in her study, and one in her bedroom.  Fox opted to work out of the bedroom, she told Trini and Domi that she didn’t think that either of them should risk ruining that room for them.  Fox was being completely supportive of Trini’s relationship with Domi now, rather than just tolerating it.  Trini was set up in the living room and Domi took her office.  They were all pushing to get this done today, so that they could really put this behind them.

It was a few minutes after one when Trini hesitantly pushed the first of her five tapes into the VCR and hit play.  She then sat down with her pad of paper to take any notes if the Quarrymen said anything useful.  After ten minutes of the first tape Trini had to hit pause and take a few calming breaths.  It was footage of a rape in Central Park.  The good thing was that some of the men were wearing their Quarrymen clothes.  Trini forcefully pushed her emotions away, determined to get through this without having to stop constantly.  She then hit play and continued.

She only had a half a page of possibly useful information from the first tape when she pushed the second one in.  Halfway through the second tape she heard a door slam upstairs.  She quickly paused the tape and went upstairs to see what was going on.  When she heard Domi’s tearful voice talking she stopped walking up the stairs.  “She could have run before they all did that to her… She could have run and left me there.  She had the opportunity… I could see she noticed it.”

It took a moment for Fox to respond.  “Oh…”  Fox sounded stunned.  She spoke more softly, almost tenderly, “She could never have done that to you.”  Trini slowly and quietly moved to leave.  Domi wanted Fox for this… she didn’t really understand her sudden trust of Fox, but she could understand why Domi would want someone else, other than Trini, to talk to about this.

Trini stared at the TV screen with the frozen shot of another woman’s ordeal.  She sighed heavily and got back to work.  After that tape was done she shoved another tape in.  She had to stop it quickly.  It was Domi.  With a shaky hand she pulled that tape out and set it aside, like she’d promised.  She was glad they were dead.  The next tape was pushed in and Trini started with the notes again.  It was sickening how these rapists could stand around and talk about things while a woman was being raped.  These men always did this in packs, and Trini didn’t recognize them all.  The Quarrymen had a lot of rapists.

Trini glanced at the clock.  It was almost seven pm.  She wasn’t thinking about dinner at all.  She still had one tape to go through.  She put a tape in, but didn’t press play, because she could hear Fox and Domi coming down the stairs.  “Break time.”  Fox announced loudly.

Fox made a call to David to let him know that they would be a few more hours.  Trini wanted to stay at Domi’s tonight, but she understood that she needed to be with David when he came home.  They most likely wouldn’t need the alibi, but it was just better to have one.

Dinner was tense.  They all tried to talk about other things, like movies, work… really anything that had nothing to do with what was really on all their minds.  The break was over far too soon as far as Trini was concerned.  They were pushing to get this done in time to meet David and drive back to the Eyrie with him.  It didn’t take Trini long to convince Fox that it would be best to take a cab to some other place to meet David, rather than tell him where Domi lived.  It wasn’t that Trini didn’t trust David, it was that she didn’t want to force Domi to have to trust him.  Fox could understand that.

Trini was the first one done, because she didn’t have five tapes she could watch.  She climbed the stairs to see if she could trade tapes with anyone at nine thirty.  Standing there, looking at both doors, she didn’t know who to give this tape too.  She finally decided that Fox would be the better choice.  She knocked on the closed door softly, so as not to disturb the gargoyle in the room down the hall.

She knew that Domi had found a tape with Trini’s rape.  This tape started with Mark and Domi.  It was a sick thought, but… how long were they held captive?  How long was she unconscious?  How long had those monsters been raping Domi before Trini was able to stop it?  Trini remembered Carl saying he had to change the tape before she’d blacked out again.  She also knew that none of the men seemed to expect her to be alive, so maybe that tape never got changed.  This tape started out with Mark.  It would last two hours before they needed to change it.  They must have been abusing Domi for over two hours.

By the time Fox opened the door Trini was very pale and feeling weak.  Her voice was very soft, so it wouldn’t carry to the study.  “I can’t watch this one.  Do you have one to trade?”  She could see a flash of apprehension about the tape in her hand before Fox nodded and went back into the room to grab one.   When Trini handed it over she felt the need to apologize.  “I’m sorry… I just… she shouldn’t see it.  I don’t think I’m in that one.”  She took a deep breath.  “I think it’s the one she… didn’t want me to see.”

“It’s okay Trini.  I understand.”  Fox said gently.  “It’s just… I haven’t run across any of… these yet.  Demona found one… I think you’re right.  She can’t take seeing these.”

Trini’s lips thinned for a moment.  “Thank you for being so good to her.”  Trini could feel her eyes tearing up.  She knew Fox had comforted Domi after finding the tape of Trini’s rape.  She could very easily imagine how painful that discovery had been.

Trini popped the last tape that she’d have to endure into the warm VCR.  It probably never had to work so much before.  Her eyes widened in horror as she realized who it was.  It was Kelly.  Mark, Carl, and another man that Trini had killed in Canada were raping the teenager.  She didn’t even realize she’d screamed until the footsteps came running down the stairs.

“Oh God!  If I’d just gone after them then…”  Trini was nearly hysterical.  Her heart was pounding.  “I could have killed them.  I could have stopped it.”  Fox raced into the room and shut the TV off.  Demona was by her side an instant later.  Trini turned her head into Demona’s shoulder and hugged the gargoyle tightly.  She could have stopped them before they ever touched Domi… but she’d chosen to help the girl instead.  She remembered the strong urge to hunt the men down when she found Kelly.  How many of these rape tapes were created after that night?  How many women suffered because of Trini’s choice?

“What is it Trini?”  Fox squatted down so her face was even with Trini’s.

“That’s Kelly.  I found her in the park after this happened.”  Trini was having a hard time breathing, and a really hard time talking.  Trini’s eyes were wide and full of pain.  “I chose to help her.  Mark and the others weren’t far away.  I could have…”

Demona started to caress Trini’s back, but that just started more tears.  “You can’t second guess yourself like that.”

Trini could feel Fox moving to sit on the couch behind her, and another set of arms hugged Trini.  “There was no way you could have known.  You did what you thought was right.”

Fox and Trini got ready to leave shortly after Trini calmed down.  Demona didn’t blame her.  They left three tapes for another time, but Trini strongly suspected that Demona would finish those up tonight and send out the tapes for the police.  It was going to be addressed to Elisa Maza.  Trini had wanted to leave her ex-lover out of this, but Fox pointed out that this was bound to end up being Elisa and Matt’s case regardless, and sending the tapes to someone else would just slow the police down.  Demona told Trini to take the next day off work.  Trini almost argued, but she was so tired.  That short nap they all had this morning wasn’t enough.  David met Fox and Trini shortly before midnight and they drove home in silence.  Trini stared out the window, but she didn’t see anything.  She kept hearing the different women pleading for help that never came.  Trini had thought that she’d feel more guilt over the cold blooded murder she’d committed this weekend, but she didn’t.  That young man that she’d felt sorry for was a rapist too.  They all deserved it.
