Role Playing
By Luna Wyrd
A/N: A short fic bit for the Secret Liasons challenge. Done in less than two hours… as a last minute inspiration.
Ann rolled out of bed and groaned. She really shouldn't have drank so much at her Aunt Elisa's sixtieth birthday party the night before. Hopefully she hadn't done anything too stupid, but if she had she was pretty sure her cousins would be calling to rub it in.
She shut off her alarm and dragged her exhausted body to the bathroom. At least Elisa's birthday was New Years Eve, it meant Ann had no trouble getting vacation time to visit and to recover before going back to work.
She got dressed and tossed on her red jacket. It was cold in New York this time of year and she was grateful she didn't actually live here.
"Hey Mom." Ann started talking on her cell phone as soon as she left the hotel lobby to find food. "I'm gonna have to cancel on dinner tonight."
"What? Why?" Ann hated that her mother sounded disappointed. It wasn't like she didn't see the woman all the time. They both lived in Arizona. "Your cousins were looking forward to spending time with you." And the guilt trip starts. Ann sighed as she stopped to wait for traffic to move so she could cross the street.
"I made plans to visit a friend." She lied. She was planning to just go out dancing and try to enjoy the city a bit, since she only got to see it a week a year. And the cousins were really not that interested in visiting with her anyway, not that her mother or aunt or uncle ever noticed. Being the only human cousin made it hard to relate. Well, technically Uncle Talon's kids were human, but they sure didn't look it.
"And you could have stayed at the house. Why didn't you?"
"Mom, its crowded at the house. I can afford a hotel, and…" and she's the only one that could actually check into a hotel. The city wasn't as tolerant of mutates and gargoyles as they pretended to be. "I like my privacy."
"Oh, well…" Her mother figured it out. Ann could tell because the guilt trip sounded like it was over. Beth hated that Ann was often the odd one out, but she understood it. "Keep tomorrow free. The shops should be opened and we need to do some shopping."
"Sure thing mom."
She was sitting at a booth when someone slid into the seat across from her without asking. When she looked up to complain she just stared instead. "What are you doing here?" A slight smile crossed her lips.
"I have family I haven't seen in a while. I thought I could take this time to visit."
"So you aren't just checking up on me?"
"You flatter yourself Maza, my world doesn't revolve around you."
"I do have a first name." Ann grinned at her visitor. "Or do you just like to pretend I'm someone else?" the redhead across from her looked a bit flustered at that. Aunt Elisa was a pretty great woman and the family often talked about how much like Elisa Ann looked. Ann glanced around to make sure no one was watching and leaned forward, a mischievious smile on her face. "Do you want to pretend now?" When Dominique pretended that Ann was Elisa, she got wild… and a bit rough. Ann liked it that way.
"I should get you a fake badge to go with that jacket." Dominique gave her a sly grin. The jacket had been Ann's big concession to Dominique's obsession with Elisa. She let her hair grow, because apparently Aunt Elisa used to have long hair when she was younger. If Dominique had ever actually been Elisa's lover, Ann would have been too creeped out to play these games, but she hadn't been. In fact they were still enemies, and it was that anger Dominique still had that made the role playing so good.
They were walking back to the hotel Ann was staying at in mere minutes, and Ann felt a thrill of anticipation. Dominique had only been her lover a short time, ever since she'd hunted Ann down in Arizona. Ann was no fool, she knew that Dominique hadn't been planning to have things develop the way they had. Ann was probably supposed to be a target for Dominique's rage, however she'd managed to see past the stories her aunt had told so many times and was probably the only one to realize Dominique's reactions to Elisa were too intense. She'd used that guess to seduce her captor and never regretted it since.
Once they were in the hotel room Dominique shoved Ann against the wall hard. The act was on. "Demona, I don’t know what your plans are, but you wont get away with it." Ann glared at her lover.
"Oh Maza… detective…" Dominique sneered at her, and once again Ann got the feeling that Dominique had gone into a strange part of her mind where she really believed Ann was Elisa. "I've decided to sample what Goliath thinks is worth betraying his own kind for."
"What?!" Ann swallowed nervously. "You can't be serious Demona." Hopefully Dominique was in control enough to not bruise her, or at least keep the damage somewhere that her family wouldn't notice it. Pretending she walked into another door wouldn't go over well, but the dangerous glint in Dominique's eyes told Ann it would be a rough lovemaking today.
The air was pushed from her lungs as Dominique slammed her roughly onto the bed. Her jacket was left on, but her shirt was ruined as buttons flew in all directions. "Human slime, you will submit, or I'll beat you into submission." Dominique growled. Ann knew better than to submit too quickly. It made this less satisfying for her lover, and Ann liked… Oh God, Dominique was the best lover Ann had ever had. Their kinks matched up perfectly.
"Get your hands off me." She kept her voice down, even though at home she'd yell it out. She then struggled until Dominique grabbed her nipple and twisted cruelly. "Demona… don’t." She gritted her teeth and enjoyed the pain.
"Submit Detective and I might let you live… to go back and tell Goliath what I've done." Dominique then reached down and slid her hand up Ann's clothed thigh. "You can scream all you want, no one will rescue you now. The clan is all asleep."
"I don't need rescuing you bitch." Ann tried to pull her arms out of Dominique's steel grip and struggled valiantly, knowing it wouldn't work. That woman was incredibly strong even during the day. The opened hand moving toward her face made her flinch as Dominique just barely remembered not to mark her in such an obvious way.
Dominique stopped and leaned down to whisper menacingly into Ann's ear. "You like pain and danger don't you? You must or you wouldn't always leap into it unthinking. It's ridiculous, a human thinking she can fight me and win." The lips that covered her own sought to dominate and Ann moaned into her lover while aching for the contact, still she didn't forget her role and pulled away after a moment even though she didn't want to and turned her face away as if Dominique's touch disgusted her. "I'll beat you Elisa. I'll crush your heart and you won't even realize how I managed to do it."
Ann's eyebrows drew together a little as those new words entered their love play. She wasn't sure how to respond to that one. Dominique spared her from having to ad lib something. "Filthy human, you're going to use that mouth for something useful." Ann was then grabbed by her hair and forced to move or lose a large patch of it. She found herself kneeling between Dominique's legs.
"You don't seriously expect me to…" She started before the hand hit the side of her head, silencing her. Dominique pulled her closer to her sex. "Demona… don’t do this." A note of panic in her voice.
"What, Detective? I'm sure you can handle this." Dominique sneered at her and shoved her closer. "Shove the skirt out of the way. I'm not wearing underwear." Ann had to struggle to not grin at that brief instruction. Her lover came to her ready to play then.
********
"Demona… No!" Ann yelled out her fake protest as Dominique moved to enter her. She struggled, but not too much. She didn't want to make this impossible.
The slam against the door startled them both into tensing up. One more slam and her cousin and Elisa rushed into the room. Oh God. Ann felt a blush of shame at having been caught like this.
"Demona get away from her." Elisa glared at the half naked redhead and had a gun trained on her. Ann could actually see Elisa's arm shaking in her rage. "You are one sick fuck!" Elisa looked ready to kill. Ann glanced at her cousin, Talon's son… and the look in his eyes said it all.
"Its not rape." Ann spoke softly. "Can you guys step outside." An embarrassed flush seemed to cover her whole body. They'd been playing at rape, and apparently it sounded convincing.
"What?" Elisa turned to stare at Ann like she was insane.
"Put the gun away and step outside." Ann managed to slip the sheet over her body. She felt far too exposed in front of her family. "Just give us a minute." Ann glanced over at her lover and Dominique was making no effort to cover herself. She just kneeled there smirking at Elisa.
"You heard her detective… or is it captain now?" Dominique's voice held a taunting note. "I could show you to the door."
"Ann!" Elisa wasn't moving her gun. If Ann didn't know Dominique was immortal she'd have been terrified her aunt would kill her.
"Elisa… it's okay." Ann spoke soothingly. This was far too volatile a situation to let her embarrassment rule her. She got up and moved to take the gun slowly. Elisa actually let her, which let Ann know how very upset her aunt really was.
"Did I manage to crush your heart Maza?" Dominique's sneer was far from attractive. It was the coldest Ann had ever seen her lover's eyes.
"Why are you even here Elisa?" Ann asked quietly.
"You left a message that you wanted to have lunch." Elisa told her without taking her eyes off of Dominique. Ann turned to her lover and stared in shock. She'd set this up.
"I beat you Maza." Dominique seemed to be talking to both of them at that point.
