No One Would Ever Know

“Ya know if M had done what she was supposed to and covered me…”  Jubilee talked loud as she complained to Paige.  “I woulda got the flag and it would be us and not the boys getting that trip to the mall.”  M was in the shower, she’d left as soon as the training in the Danger Grotto was over.

“We’ll get it next time.”  Paige finished putting on her shoes.  “We just need to work harder.”  Jubilee just popped her gum and rolled her eyes.  “I need to go work on my English paper.”  Which meant that Jubes was effectively banned from their dorm.  Great.

“Perhaps you could use that time to scrub the swamp water out of your ears.”  Monet’s cool voice interrupted Jubilee’s pity party and she turned to see the tall dark skinned girl step out of the showers wearing nothing but that towel.  Jubilee’s sarcastic comment died on her lips for a moment to long, so she turned back to her locker and started to take off her jacket.

“Ya shoulda taken Synch out fast, like I told you.”  Jubilee started to undue her wet shoes.  “When I was with the Xmen we at least knew how to work like a team.  Even Wolvie…”

“And yet no one really cares.”  Jubilee glared at the older girl.  If her eyes traveled down just a moment to take in the firm breasts, it was only natural.  They were just sitting out there after all.

“Well, Ms. Perfect,  Jubilee’s voice dropped a little deeper.  “It wasn’t me out there losing to the boys.  That was all you.  If you’d just done what I…”

“I’ve had enough of this.”  Monet finished buttoning her shirt.  “You told me to stay away from Synch so he wouldn’t get my powers then you said knock him out.  Either way I did what you told me to.”  Monet reached down her long, tone legs to slip one foot into her pants.  “Nothing to say?”

“Orders change in the middle of the battle.  You have to take the…”  Jubilee continued her tirade, talking faster and faster, until Monet stood up and gave her a look, the one that said you really are a child aren’t you, before walking out of the locker room.  Jubilee hated that look.

Still she found herself watching the way Money walked out of the room, the way her jeans hugged her tightly.  That girl did know how to dress.
